We (English/[name_m]German[/name_m] family) are expecting our second child and have been swapping our lists. I love the name [name_f]Lotus[/name_f], [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and [name_f]Lotus[/name_f] seem very well matched to me. OH isn’t into [name_f]Lotus[/name_f] because he thinks people will have certain associations with this name. His prefered name is [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] which I like but not as a fullname that carries through to adulthood.
So:
q1. What do you think of when you hear the name [name_f]Lotus[/name_f]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it works as a name?
q2. What fullnames work with [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] and go with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]? ([name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] don’t cut it for me.)
(My naming style is in my signature. My OH’s top 5 is: [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], [name_f]Nena[/name_f], Magalie, [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f].)
[name_f]Lotus[/name_f] I think is very pretty, but to me sounds more like a middle name! Like from your list for full names for [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Lotus[/name_f]! Here’s a little list!

[name_f]Lotus[/name_f] is not my favorite either, but I think it works with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. [name_f]Margo[/name_f]/[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is my top choice for you and you could use [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] as a nn-- I really like [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I really like the suggestion of [name_f]Miriam[/name_f].

@davisellu -I agree [name_f]Margot[/name_f] looks good next to [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. But the name always make me sad knowing
it was [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_m]Frank[/name_m]’s sister’s name. So I can’t use it and feel happy.

I feel like [name_f]Lotus[/name_f] would be nicer as a middle name, not sure I can imagine a 40 year old called [name_f]Lotus[/name_f], you know? I love [name_f]Flora[/name_f], have you considered [name_f]Florence[/name_f]? I think that would be beautiful and so many nickname opportunities!
