Naming Pseudo-Medieval Love Interest

As the title states, the setting is pseudo-medieval fantasy. There are only humans and creatures, no other humanoid/demi-human races.

The character I’m looking to name is a merchant’s daughter due to be married. It’s arranged, but she’s optimistic about her situation. Travelling to meet her future husband, though, she and her escort find themselves stranded in the forest and have to travel by foot. Of course, they end up fallimg in love along the way.

She can easily come across as naive, but in truth she just tries to see the positives in a situation. People tend to assume she’s stupid, which she uses to her advantage helping out in her father’s shop. Although she doesn’t have much experience with survivial or fighting, she is keen to learn. She hates feeling like there’s nothing she can do, both in the sense of feeling useless and feeling hopeless.

I originally named her [name_f]Mireille[/name_f], but I’m not so sure it goes well enough with the main character’s name, which is [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]. What I’m looking for is an overtly feminine, preferably frilly name. I’d like it to start with an M, but it’s not necessary. I’m not concerned about last names or middles.

I think [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] walks well with [name_f]Saskia[/name_f].
[name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]
[name_f]Millie[/name_f]
[name_f]Melusine[/name_f]
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f]
[name_f]Mallory[/name_f]
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Milena[/name_f]
[name_f]Marissa[/name_f]

Might I ask, how does the main character fit into the story? [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious. Great plot, though!

[name_f]Mariella[/name_f]/[name_f]Marielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Marika[/name_f]
[name_f]Marysa[/name_f]
[name_f]Michielle[/name_f]

I’m loving [name_f]Mariella[/name_f]!

I agree that [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] works nicely!

Other ideas:
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeva[/name_f]
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f]
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]
[name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_f]Meilani[/name_f]
[name_f]Malia[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_u]Marian[/name_u]

over

She’s a bodyguard/guide hired to escort [name_f]Mireille[/name_f]. Thank you !

[name_f]Mariella[/name_f] is very nice, but I wonder if it won’t be too samey with both names ending in an A. Maybe [name_f]Marielle[/name_f]… They’re all pretty, though!

elenajanie, your suggestions are rather unusual, but I do quite like them. My favourite is Maevenn.

sparkleninja18 (i like your username haha), yours are also nice. [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] has been a favourite of mine for a while, but I’m holding onto it as a potential future daughter’s name, so I think I would feel weird using it… [name_u]Marian[/name_u] might work, though.

emmievis, i quite like [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]; the spelling is similar, but the sound is nicer. I suppose if it’s fantasy, though, so [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] wouldn’t necessarily have to be pronounced the french way… Your other suggestions are nice, too, but [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f] quite stood out to me.

I’ll have to mull all of your suggestions , I think. Since you all seem to agree that [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] is fine as by iis, I’ll cons
