I personally think that honoring a mom through the kid’s name is just amazing, since in most cases the last name is from the father I think that it should also have a connection to the mother
And to be honest I love the masculine version of my name and would be happy to use it in the first or middle name spot deppending on the combo
I think naming a son after the mom is absolutely fine.

One of my favourite combos for a future boy honours my sister in the middle and my great grandmother in the first (and she was named after her grandmother).

[name_m]Allan[/name_m] is the male version of my name , my husbands middle name and my mother in laws fathers name . [name_u]Douglas[/name_u] is my maternal grandfather so we chalked his name full of honours !

I think it is a lovely idea to name your baby after you. Mother’s should be honored more often!
My younger brothers middle name is the male version of mothers middle name and I love this! I think it is great if honour names do not depend on gender. It would go for it, Jack Laurence is great!
