Nancy (Opinions)

Not expecting, but if I ever do, if I have a girl, I have already determined that her name will be [name_f]Nancy[/name_f], after my grandma who passed away last [name_f]April[/name_f]. Before her death, I really wasn’t a big fan of the name, and was a die hard fan of [name_f]Athena[/name_f]. I still am, though my mom doesn’t like the name.

But [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] has grown on me, and the nickname ‘[name_f]Nan[/name_f]’ is kinda adorable, on a baby. The thing is, middle names, my grandma’s name was [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] (the name meanings are literally the exact same thing). My middle name and my mom’s is [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], so I am going to use [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] as well, I just don’t like it with [name_f]Nancy[/name_f].

If I use [name_f]Athena[/name_f] too, I’ll use [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] with it.

I think [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] has a sweet sound, and the meaning behind the name for you is all that matters. It is an older name. My middle name, [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], has been passed through 3 generations. I think I will use a variation of [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] or one with the same meaning. You could also consider a variation of [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] or [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] if you like, or you could pick a 2nd middle name.

Variants of [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]:
Linell
Lynae
[name_f]Lynell[/name_f]
[name_f]Lynette[/name_f]
Lynlee
[name_f]Lynna[/name_f]
[name_f]Lynea[/name_f]
