I’m leaning toward putting both together, [name]Grayson[/name] [name]Davis[/name], but wanted to double check with you guys. I like [name]Gray[/name] as a nn for [name]Grayson[/name] but wouldn’t really want [name]Davis[/name] getting shortened to [name]Dave[/name]. Wouldn’t that be inevitable if it were in the first name slot?
Well, firstly, not every name will be shortened to a nickname. I went to middle school with a [name]Davis[/name], and he was never never called [name]Dave[/name]. He was always just [name]Davis[/name].
I like [name]Grayson[/name] a bit more, but I like the spelling of [name]Greyson[/name] better. [name]Greyson[/name] [name]Davis[/name] is completely fine.
When i get a new kid in my group at the daycare, I typically don’t shorten a name unless the kid tells me they want it shortened. I don’t shorten any of the kids names in my group. if I had a [name]Davis[/name] in my group, I would call him [name]Davis[/name] unless he told me otherwise.
That being said, I prefer [name]Greyson[/name]. I like [name]Greyson[/name] [name]Davis[/name]. It has a really nice sound to it.
