I prefer [name]Audrey[/name], hands down- I feel it has a timeless vibe that [name]Lila[/name] does not.
I love both names but I would have to choose [name]Audrey[/name] for its longevity and versatility. It’s a saint’s name (also called Etheldreda), it’s a Shakespearean name (As You Like It) and it has a ladylike elegance with an old-Hollywood glamour (Ms Hepburn). [name]Lila[/name] is lovely and vintage but a surprising number of people don’t know how to pronounce it despite its rise in popularity.
While I love all the positive associations with [name]Audrey[/name], and I really do like it, I just get a more feminine feel from [name]Lila[/name]. Based purely on look and sound, [name]Audrey[/name] feels more ‘hard’ and less girly to me.
[name]Audrey[/name], for sure. It’s stylish but timeless, girly but not overly so, and works on every age. I also love that it’s a vintage name.
While I think [name]Lila[/name] is a prettier name, I’d have to go with [name]Audrey[/name] because I think it’s less trendy and more classic. I also believe, while it’s higher in the popularity standings right now, that it’s going to hold steady or even fade a bit while [name]Lila[/name] will keep rising (you can see its sharp upward climb in the chart on the [name]Lila[/name] page). And [name]Lila[/name] is one of so many similar names that are similarly rising: [name]Lola[/name], [name]Delilah[/name], [name]Leila[/name], [name]Layla[/name] etc.
So: Team [name]Audrey[/name]!
