Narrowing Down

We have finally agreed on a few names but still have a few months to go until final decision. We know it’s a girl so we want to honor both of our Great Grandmothers by using [name]Josepha[/name] and [name]Francine[/name] in the name. I think they are both beautiful names but I’m having a hard time deciding. We’d love your input!
Some names we’ve agreed on are:

[name]Philomina[/name] [name]Francine[/name]
[name]Selena[/name] [name]Francine[/name]
[name]Josepha[/name] [name]Yvette[/name]
[name]Josepha[/name] [name]Rosaleen[/name]
[name]Talisa[/name] [name]Francine[/name]
[name]Josepha[/name] [name]Ines[/name]
[name]Francine[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Corinne[/name] [name]Josepha[/name]

Thanks!

Have you considered combining them and using [name]Josephine[/name]?

Out of your options, my favorite is [name]Philomina[/name] [name]Francine[/name]. I really love whit32’s idea of combining them to use [name]Josephine[/name].

I’m thirding [name]Josephine[/name]! [name]How[/name] about [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Frances[/name]? Honors both, very classic, but updated

I like [name]Corinne[/name] [name]Josepha[/name] and [name]Philomina[/name] [name]Francine[/name]. [name]Josephine[/name] would be great too!

I like these three combos but [name]Josephine[/name] would honor both great grandmothers with one name!

[name]Josepha[/name] [name]Ines[/name]
[name]Francine[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Corinne[/name] [name]Josepha[/name]

My favorite from your list:
[name]Selena[/name] [name]Francine[/name]
[name]Francine[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]

To honor [name]Josepha[/name] how about [name]Seraphina[/name] it has the “sepha” in it.
And even better, [name]Josaline[/name] (pr [name]JOS[/name]-lyn) has the “josa” for [name]Josepha[/name] and “ine” for [name]Francine[/name]!!!

[name]Josaline[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name]
[name]Josepha[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]

[name]Love[/name] these combos for you!

PS [name]Frankie[/name] would be SUCH a CUTE nn on a girl!!

I adore [name]Philomena[/name] so my pick is definitely [name]Philomena[/name] [name]Francine[/name]. [name]Philomena[/name] is romantic, vintage, striking, and so uncommon! It’s absolutely gorgeous and for some unknown reason I find it quite nostalgic in a way.

[name]Lori[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] is a genius!
I adore josepha [name]Francine[/name]!!
I actually don’t agree with using [name]Josephine[/name] to combine the two. [name]Josepha[/name] is so unique and would be adorable on a little girl as well as suit a professional woman. And [name]Josie[/name] is such a great nn. [name]Francine[/name] in the middle spot feels classic and feminine. I think they roll together nicely and I wouldn’t be too worried about the double “f” sound.
Alternatively I prefer [name]Josepha[/name] [name]Rosaleen[/name] first and [name]Francine[/name] marguerite second.
For what it’s worth, my sister’s name is [name]Selena[/name] and I have always adored her name. I highly recommend it if you want to use it.

I’m going to jump on board with all those suggesting [name]Josephine[/name] as a combination of [name]JOSEPHa[/name] and francINE. [name]Love[/name] it! Best of all, you wouldn’t have to decide which loved one to honor this time–you could honor both at once. [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] or [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Corinne[/name] would be lovely. I also like [name]Francine[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] if you decide to stick with one of the names you originally listed.

I love!!! [name]Talisa[/name] [name]Francine[/name]

Wow! Thank you all for the wonderful feedback! I do love [name]Josephine[/name] as a combo for [name]Josepha[/name] and [name]Francine[/name]. I’m not sure how my husband will react because his Great Grandmother’s name is [name]Francine[/name] and I don’t want him to feel that the “F” part of the name is out of the picture. I will be running this past him tonight. We’ve been trying to comprimise so we’ll see.

We are both very very vintage. Our house and interior are vintage, we love to shop vintage in NYC, and we both wear vintage. It is only natural that our little one have a vintage name. [name]Josepha[/name] and [name]Francine[/name] to actually sound great together too. Your input is going to help us out greatly. We still have some time, so any other suggestions will be appreciated too!

[name]Francine[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] is my fave on your list.
I agree [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Frances[/name] would be nice

[name]Josephina[/name], Francepha, [name]Francine[/name] [name]Josepha[/name], [name]Corinna[/name] [name]Francine[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Corinne[/name], [name]Josie[/name] [name]Cora[/name], [name]Cory[/name] [name]Josepha[/name], [name]Corinne[/name] [name]Frances[/name], [name]Frances[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]

I adore [name]Josepha[/name]. Her charm is very different from [name]Josephine[/name]'s.
[name]Josepha[/name] [name]Francine[/name] would be wonderful, but I also love [name]Josepha[/name] and [name]Francine[/name] for sisters  With brothers named [name]Conrad[/name] and [name]Walter[/name] or something along those lines.
[name]Josepha[/name] [name]Ines[/name] combines two of my favourite names into one, with tremendous success, so that’s without a doubt my favourite. Amazing!
[name]Posy[/name] would be my favourite nickname.

[name]Selena[/name] [name]Francine[/name] and [name]Philomina[/name] [name]Francine[/name] are also wonderful, but I do prefer the [name]Philomena[/name] spelling. Are you changing the spelling to get [name]Mina[/name] as a nickname? I have to mention that I love [name]Pim/name as a nickname for [name]Philomena[/name]. Or [name]Poe[/name], [name]Pippi[/name] or [name]Lola[/name]. [name]Selena[/name] should be [name]Lena[/name].

I think the combo of [name]Josepha[/name] and [name]Francine[/name] to [name]Josephine[/name] is amazing! [name]Francine[/name] is one of my favorite names, so making it a first name would be the best option for me. [name]Francine[/name] [name]Josepha[/name] flows so beautifully! I also love [name]Philomina[/name], so [name]Philomina[/name] [name]Francine[/name] is my next choice. Here are my favorites.

[name]Francine[/name] [name]Josepha[/name]
[name]Philomina[/name] [name]Francine[/name]
[name]Selena[/name] [name]Francine[/name]
[name]Talisa[/name] [name]Francine[/name]
[name]Francine[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]

Good luck to you!

Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions! I have been conversing with hubby over the combination of [name]Francine[/name] and [name]Josepha[/name] to [name]Josephine[/name] and he really likes it! It is now on the table after several days of mentioning

If we use [name]Josephine[/name] we will need a mn. So any help with this will be awesome. Right with the choices we’ve made we’ve narrowed down a little more to:

[name]Josepha[/name] [name]Francine[/name] (nn - we like the suggestion of [name]Posy[/name]…we also like [name]Josie[/name] and [name]Francie[/name])
[name]Philomina[/name] [name]Francine[/name] or [name]Francine[/name] [name]Philomina[/name] (nn - either [name]Mimi[/name], [name]Mina[/name] or [name]Francie[/name])
[name]Francine[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] (nn - [name]Francie[/name], [name]Margie[/name], or [name]Rita[/name])

We’re looking forward to more input & suggestions. We love spending the evenings discussing her name!
