Our daughter is named [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]West[/name_u] P—. We are currently trying to narrow down our list for a second. All opinions and suggestions are welcome, no need to be polite.
[name_m]Alaric[/name_m] - due to the E & A sound being so close in pronunciation, I don’t love [name_m]Al[/name_m]aric with [name_f]El[/name_f]eanor
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] - same as above
[name_m]Amos[/name_m] - [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a stunning classic, I don’t really see [name_m]Amos[/name_m] fitting in with her
[name_m]Anderson[/name_m] - is a lastname to me
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] - is cool
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] - the sound kind of reminds me of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] - love it, a great classic and has the same style as your daughters name
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] - same as [name_m]Amos[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u] - love it
[name_m]Baxter[/name_m] - too harsh
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] - works really well
[name_m]Clark[/name_m] - not my favourite but would work
[name_m]Crane[/name_m] - is a machine
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] - [name_f]Miley[/name_f]
[name_u]Dexter[/name_u] - see [name_m]Baxter[/name_m]
[name_m]Duncan[/name_m] - nms
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] - I’m not a fan of both names starting with the same letter but it also doesn’t really fit in
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - same as above
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] - love it with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] - too harsh for me
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m] - nms
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] - more of a surname to me
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] - cool
[name_m]Grover[/name_m] - reminds me of groove
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] - would make the set sound vintage / very old (which isn’t a bad thing)
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] - fantastic
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m] - nms
[name_m]Isiah[/name_m] - nms
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] - love [name_m]Jack[/name_m] but [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] is not my style
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m] - nice
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] - ok
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] - is somewhat classic, work really well with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_m]Julius[/name_m] - see [name_m]Julian[/name_m]
[name_m]Linus[/name_m] - nms but same asa above
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] - too unusual for my style
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] - in the middle (and I’ve never watched that show)
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] - ok
[name_m]Miller[/name_m] - last name
[name_m]Nigel[/name_m] - nms
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] - nms
[name_m]Patrick[/name_m] - 80s
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] - last name
[name_m]Ralph[/name_m] - older than [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] but not vintage
[name_m]Roman[/name_m] - nms
[name_m]Samson[/name_m] - nms
[name_u]Stanley[/name_u] - has quite modern feel
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u] - meh
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] - last name
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m] - last name
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] - love it & love [name_u]Theo[/name_u] even more
[name_m]Truman[/name_m] - last name
[name_m]Walt[/name_m] - Disney
[name_m]Walter[/name_m] - same as [name_m]Ralph[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] - ok
[name_u]Wylie[/name_u] - [name_f]Kylie[/name_f]
My favourites to go with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]:
The ones that have obvious issues and I don’t think make good firsts with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] at all:
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] – With [name_u]Jude[/name_u], I would think of the Beatles songs [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_m]Rigby[/name_m] and Hey [name_u]Jude[/name_u].
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] – they rhyme.
The ones that are really different styles and I don’t think sound nice together at all:
[name_m]Alaric[/name_m] – Very old world, ancient sound with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] sounding like the 1800s
[name_m]Anderson[/name_m] – I just find -son names so trendy next to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] – occupation names are also too trendy next to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]IMO[/name_f]
[name_m]Crane[/name_m] – Word names are very odd when put next to old fashioned [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] – Place name and ancient sounds next to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_u]Dexter[/name_u] – very modern sound, very right now compared to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] – see [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m] – [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] just sounds very strange and hard next to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] – too mythological and right now
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] – see [name_m]Anderson[/name_m]
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] – See [name_m]Anderson[/name_m]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] – See [name_m]Alaric[/name_m]
[name_m]Miller[/name_m] – see [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] – See [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Roman[/name_m] – This is just an odd pair to me
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u] – very sort of modern and trendyish
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m] – see [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] – same as with [name_u]Wylie[/name_u]
[name_u]Wylie[/name_u] – Sweet old fashioned [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and cowboy [name_u]Wylie[/name_u]?
These I think would match best with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]:
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_m]Graham[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Duncan[/name_m]
[name_m]Amos[/name_m]
These I just like and think they’re worthy to be kept and wouldn’t clash with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]:
[name_m]Alaric[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_m]Samson[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
I love [name_m]Duncan[/name_m], but I don’t love [name_m]Duncan[/name_m] with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I think something like [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Duncan[/name_m] or [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Duncan[/name_m] or [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Duncan[/name_m] would be very awesome.
I like [name_m]Truman[/name_m] best with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I also like [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and Everret. Repeating initials don’t bother me. [name_m]Graham[/name_m] is also very cute! [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], and [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] are all very nice as well.
My favorites with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are…
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Julian[/name_m]
My favorite of the names on the list are: [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_m]Lysander[/name_m], and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (I adore [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], but it kind of rhymes a bit with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]…)
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps narrow it down a bit
