[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries! I’m due in [name_u]June[/name_u], but for several months DH and I have been torn between 2 names…which do you like better and why? Any other first name suggestions or opinions on middle names? Our last name is 1 syllable, and our top boys name is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. Thanks so much!
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (we haven’t been able to agree on another mn)
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Marina[/name_f] (other mn’s: [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f])
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is a gorgeous, sweet, frilly confection. [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] is a little spunky, maybe a bit commanding. As you can tell, I get two totally different impressions of either name. It really comes down to what style you like the best or (if you’re going to use one) which nickname you prefer. I’m not sure how to compare them since they’re in different categories in my mind and I kind of like them both. Maybe [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Natalia[/name_f]?
I prefer [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and especially like it with [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]-- both elegant, classic names. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is lovely-- [name_f]Marina[/name_f] has a little bit of a rhyming sound for me.
I like [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] much better than [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. I much prefer [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] / [name_f]Carolin[/name_f] pronounced as [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] at the end.
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f] sounds bold and beautiful, but not frilly or over the top.
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is fine. Although I love [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], I am not sure how much I like it as a middle for [name_f]Natalia[/name_f].
ideas:
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f], [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] Jessamin, or [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
I am generally not a fan of [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] (my sister’s name is [name_f]Natalie[/name_f], and I tend to prefer the sweet, [name_m]French[/name_m], chic simplicity of it, as opposed to [name_f]Natalia[/name_f], which always seems more exotic to me. Then again, I’m obviously biased). I like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], but something about it always seems to hold me back (and I inadvertently always think of the horrid [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] Bingley!). But for some reason, the thought of [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] really excites me! It’s a lovely combo. I don’t know if you’re open to [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], but I think it would be beautiful. If not, my vote goes to the sweet, timeless [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], who has so many darling, spunky nicknames and is so versatile and drop-dead gorgeous. She’s been off and on my list for the past couple of years. I really love [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (even [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]?), although [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Marina[/name_f] is nice.
I love [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] second choice would be [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f].
[name_m]Both[/name_m] are gorgeous, but [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] stands out. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] has never been a fave of mine. Nicknames for [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] could be [name_u]Nat[/name_u], [name_u]Tally[/name_u], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_f]Talia[/name_f], [name_f]Natasha[/name_f], [name_f]Tasha[/name_f], [name_m]Nate[/name_m], or [name_u]Allie[/name_u].
I prefer [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] to [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] as a first name. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is an old classic name that has been revived. It has many NN options like [name_f]Lina[/name_f] or [name_f]Cara[/name_f]. Perhaps [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] or [name_f]Natasha[/name_f]. [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] also reminds me of [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] for some reason
Hmm, I like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] better as a name but would be more excited to meet a [name_f]Natalia[/name_f]. I’m sorry, that doesn’t help, but I guess I’d prefer you use [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] because it’s more unique/unusual. I used to hate [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] until I met a great person named that. I prefer the [name_f]Natalya[/name_f] spelling though, it seems more exotic. I second the suggestion of [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] though! I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but it seems too normal for the foreign-feeling [name_f]Natalia[/name_f].
