Nathan or Nathaniel?

Which do you prefer? What are your views on each name? Which do you think is more popular/more classic, etc?

[name]Nathan[/name] is presently #21 in the US, and [name]Nathaniel[/name] is clocking in at #77. That said, because both Nathans and Nathaniels are often called “[name]Nate[/name]” for short, if you’re basing your choice on popularity, I don’t think it matters if you go with [name]Nathan[/name] or [name]Nathaniel[/name].

I personally [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name], but that’s just my personal preference.

Good luck!

They both feel pretty classic. [name]Nathaniel[/name] has more of a colonial-era vibe to me, whereas I guess [name]Nathan[/name] maybe comes off as trendier because of the -an ending.

I really, really like [name]Nathaniel[/name], but I think [name]Nathan[/name]'s ok too.

I prefer [name]Nathan[/name]!
