Ooh, I adore the idea of [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Osborn[/name_m] or [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m]. [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] comes off as very pretentious to me, whereas [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is laid back and approachable.
I like both a lot, but I prefer [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] has been in the top 100 in the U.S. for more than 10 years now and I think it looks poised to break into the top 50, so it doesn’t strike me as seeming pretentious at all. I like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] as well, though.
I prefer [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]/[name_m]Nate[/name_m]. [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is nice, but I can’t imagine using it on an actual child. [name_m]Nate[/name_m] is a name that works well on all ages.
I like both names, but at the moment I prefer [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. With your middles I like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m], whilst with [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] I like all of your middle name options.
Having nephews named both [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], I couldn’t choose between the two! [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] does sound great together though!
I hope you have a quick labour and a speedy recovery!
You have two fine names from which to choose. I prefer [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. I think it’s debonair and sophisticated. Perhaps you should take both names to the hospital and make your final decision after meeting your new son. He may “look” more like a [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] than a [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m].
[name_m]Both[/name_m] really nice names. My personal favorite is [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. I love its international/multi-cultural feel. Would you use a nickname for him? Maybe it should come down to whether you like any of the nicknames for [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] as much as you like [name_m]Nate[/name_m], or whether you think it will be easy enough to avoid them (eg [name_m]Seb[/name_m], [name_m]Bas[/name_m], [name_m]Bastian[/name_m])?
As for combos though, my favorite is [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m].
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] for me! I just couldn’t get into [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], hard as I’ve tried. I think [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] would be dashing!
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]!!! It’s one of my favourite names- dashing, handsome, the type of name you could imagine on a romantic hero in a historical novel or a knight of the Round Table. A guy who has a soft and sensitive side, even a bit sensual, but strong and stands up for what he believes in. The name is Shakespearean, from the marvellously funny and clever Twelfth [name_m]Night[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m], though (or perhaps because?) it reminds me of a classical composer. [name_m]Bach[/name_m]'s middle name was [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], and [name_m]Mozart[/name_m]'s was [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m].
[name_m]Both[/name_m] are lovely choices, but alas I choose [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m].
[name_m]Nathan[/name_m] was a handsome guy I knew in high school, so I have a good experience with the name. If you end up having another son, I think [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] would make a lovely sibset.
I much prefer [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], though [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is nice as well. I think [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] sounds amazing.
I like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] more as a full name, but prefer [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]'s nicknames to [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]'s.
I like the meaning of [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. It’s also ALWAYS been in the US Top Thousand, whereas [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] hasn’t got that evergreen quality.
I know more Sebastians than Nathaniels, and the Sebastians average younger - it’s a name that feels less timeless and more stylish to me.
However, I like [name_m]Baz[/name_m] and [name_m]Bastian[/name_m] more than [name_m]Nate[/name_m].
I have always liked [name_m]Nathanael[/name_m]/[name_m]Nate[/name_m] despite my usual proclivity for more unique names. [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is so…crustacean? because of “The [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid”…and rhyming.
[name_m]Both[/name_m] are great names though I think I prefer [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] but [name_m]Seb[/name_m], not so much, which, unless you insist on something else, I think would be the most likely nn.
However, I second the suggestion of waiting until after he is born and see if he looks more like a [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] or a [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] because you can’t go wrong with either.
For combos I like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Osborn[/name_m], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m], and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
