I’m half Cherokee so I prefer the names in their original forms. There are some beautiful names before they are translated. (feel free to ask :slight_smile: )
I will tell you that I went to high school with 2 people who had translated names. They were brothers named White Bull and [name]Young[/name] [name]Bear[/name]. It suited them because [name]Young[/name] [name]Bear[/name] sounds very feminine [name]Nita[/name] [name]Yona[/name]/Awanita [name]Yona[/name]/Ayoli [name]Yona[/name] and White Bull is feminine too – Unega Tsukanastati.

I am wondering how they say animal names before translation and if those are different depending on the tribe. Deer, tiger, elk… When they’re in English they sound a little like Chinese and Japanese names I’ve seen in English, like [name]Snow[/name] [name]Lily[/name].

Hmm, other than deer and elk…umm…basil, lavender, rain, night, and cat. That about covers it.

[name]Night[/name] – Yonae (which is like yo-nah-e)
