I’d love to hear some of your favorite nature names for boys, preferably less common ones! I’ve been loving nature names a little extra lately. [name_f]My[/name_f] all-time favorite girl name is [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], so bonus points if it pairs well with that (but preferably not as popular as [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], that’s her biggest downfall imo). For girls, I have a very long list of nature names and floral names, etc. but for boys, I love nature names, but my list has always been short.
Some I’ve been loving:
[name_u]Cedar[/name_u]
[name_m]Woods[/name_m]
[name_u]Finch[/name_u]
[name_u]Sparrow[/name_u]
[name_u]Birch[/name_u]
[name_u]River[/name_u]
But I’d love to see some less-heard options! I want to know what nature names you love, and if they’re on your list, what combo you have them in for my own inspiration. Thank you!
I love nature names! I find it harder to find them for boys which is saddening since I wouldn’t mind naming my baby boy that! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite ones that are underrated are the names [name_u]Basil[/name_u] and [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]! I also love the name [name_u]Ren[/name_u], I find that to be the prettiest flower boy name (prefer it over [name_m]Jared[/name_m], thats popular)! [name_u]Fox[/name_u] is also a favorite and considered a nature name but I like it better for a mn. If you like water related baby names I love the name [name_m]Clyde[/name_m]! Also loving [name_u]Rio[/name_u] as a name, and btw [name_u]River[/name_u] is a beautiful boys name that I love with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]! Other random ones that are quite underrated are the names [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m], [name_u]Grove[/name_u], and Hawke!
How about…
[name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_u]Oak[/name_u] / [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] ([name_u]Oakley[/name_u] doesn’t feel as nature-y, but it has [name_u]Oak[/name_u] in it!)
[name_u]Pine[/name_u]
[name_m]Tamarack[/name_m] (A little GP but I like it)
[name_u]Sequoia[/name_u]
[name_u]Falcon[/name_u]
[name_u]Sorrel[/name_u] / [name_u]Sorrell[/name_u]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] (I like this for a boy)
My favorites are [name_u]Pine[/name_u] (mainly as a middle name), [name_u]Falcon[/name_u], and [name_u]Sorrell[/name_u]! I also like [name_u]Cedar[/name_u], [name_u]Finch[/name_u], and [name_u]Sparrow[/name_u] from your list.
The only one that I like that isn’t mentioned so far is [name_f]Saffron[/name_f]. I think that it’s cool for a boy or a girl. [name_m]Just[/name_m] has a very mysterious, strong, spicy (pun intended!) vibe to it. Also, maybe [name_u]Leaf[/name_u]? I kind of like the peaceful imagery that invokes.
Oakley
[name_u]Asher[/name_u]
[name_u]Lake[/name_u]
[name_m]Radley[/name_m] (red forest)
[name_m]Cliff[/name_m]
[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] (gem stone)
[name_m]Heath[/name_m]
[name_m]Clyde[/name_m] (river)
[name_u]Fox[/name_u]
[name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is ok but increasingly used for girls and is everywhere now, rocketing up the charts so I anticipate a name you’d want to avoid given your criteria.
Basil
[name_u]Elm[/name_u]
[name_u]Floris[/name_u]
[name_u]Hyacinth[/name_u]
[name_u]Jay[/name_u]
[name_u]Laurence[/name_u]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Martin[/name_m] (swallow)
[name_m]Merlin[/name_m] (a species of falcon)
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] ([name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] falcon)
[name_m]Regulus[/name_m] (scientific name of golcrests)
[name_u]Thyme[/name_u]
I also like [name_u]Auburn[/name_u], [name_u]Wilder[/name_u], [name_u]Slate[/name_u], [name_u]Brooks[/name_u], [name_u]Glenn[/name_u], [name_u]Ash[/name_u], Oake, [name_u]Vale[/name_u], [name_u]Sage[/name_u], [name_u]Sorrel[/name_u], [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], and [name_u]Everest[/name_u]
