Nazareth Adele

I’m obsessed with [name]Nazareth[/name] for a girl. Goes with very short, simple last name. Thoughts? Is it terrible?
Combos? I’m thinking [name]Nazareth[/name] [name]Adele[/name] (my middle)

If you are a devout [name]Christian[/name], this name could work. If you’re not, you’d have to be prepared for others thinking you are…Sound-wise, I like it.

[name]Nazareth[/name] [name]Adele[/name] is gorgeous. Be sure that you’re ready and comfortable with the statement it makes.

I think it would get a lot of laughs, unfortunately. I don’t think you should do it. I’m sorry but it is too well known as the place name from the [name]Christmas[/name] story.

I think it’s a bit much for a first name. I think [name]Adele[/name] is pretty and works great with a lot of names.

[name]Nazareth[/name]/Nazarene has long been given as a devout name, not just to children born at Christmastime. [name]Nazario[/name] / Nazar are the most common variants, from Spain/[name]Italy[/name] and the Slavic world, respectively. [name]Just[/name] like [name]Belen[/name], as a truncation of Bethlehem.

I think [name]Nazareth[/name] [name]Adele[/name] has a pretty sound ([name]Adele[/name] [name]Nazareth[/name] might work even better). Again, it has a longstanding history as a devout name, so if you’re not particularly [name]Christian[/name] it might send too strong a statement for your taste.

The Catholic school I went to was (and still is) run by the Sisters of [name]Nazareth[/name]. That word is so steeped in religious connotations that it would be like calling your child Bethlehem. I find it really weird, and not in a good way (sorry, but that’s my honest opinion).

I think it has a very pretty sound to it. I’m not a christian, so it would be far outside of my comfort zone to give the name to a child, but it’s really neat so I would be in full support of someone else doing so!

I love the sound of it (and it’s beautiful!), but no, I don’t think it’s usable enough. I fully aware that [name]Nazareth[/name] was [name]Jesus[/name]’ birthplace but at the same time I’m afraid if someone make fun of her and give the nickname Nazi. It’s not something that is likely to happen, because it’ll considered as an insult to religion, but still I thought about its possibility.
If you want to use [name]Nazareth[/name], I think middle spot is much safer.

Well, I am a [name]Christian[/name] and wouldn’t think you we’re religious for liking the name.
While [name]Nazareth[/name] itself sounds rather pretty, I agree with pp that nicknames such as Naz or Nazi would be terrible.
I think [name]Adele[/name] [name]Nazareth[/name] is beautiful- I would not even consider it for a first name sorry.

I love it.

I think it has a pretty ring to it, but I think [name]Nazareth[/name] is much better suited for the middle name spot. It’s not awful as a first and I kind of like it, but imo there are too many negative possibilities surrounding the name like the nicknames mentioned above.
I think [name]Adele[/name] [name]Nazareth[/name] would be gorgeous!

Yes, you’d need to have a nickname up your sleeve. [name]Retta[/name]? [name]Zara[/name]?

It sounds rather masculine to me and I agree with the potential for Nazi as a nn

[name]Nazareth[/name] has been on my list for ages! But for a boy, i dislike it on a girl, but your combo is cute.

Entirely too much.

I was on board for this one till I saw the nickname Nazi, just the potential for that nickname would take it off the table for me, which is a shame because it is lovely.

Nazareth is not the birth place of Jesus. It is the town where Jesus grew up and realized his full potential!
It is a name given to many children by devoted Christian parents throughout the world. It’s a beautiful name and stands for something real.

I wouldn’t use [name]Nazareth[/name] as a middle name. Kids can be cruel, which is to be expected with even the most common of names. But what’s worse kids create nicknames. Take the first three letters of [name]Nazareth[/name] and add an I at the end. [name]Even[/name] if they add and e at the end instead, it would still sort of sound like…

I like it for a middle name. [name]Adele[/name] [name]Nazareth[/name] sounds very pretty.

[name]Way[/name] too much name…
