Need a girls name for a traveler

I am a travel writer and would like a girl’s name that matches my passion for both traveling and writing.

[name]Beatrix[/name] - on the website “Behind the Name” the definition of [name]Beatrix[/name] has to do with traveling.
[name]Sojourner[/name]
[name]Terra[/name]
[name]Vega[/name] - a star, means “swooping eagle”

I think [name]Beatrice[/name] or [name]Beatrix[/name] would be perfect, since they mean ‘voyager’ and have lots of literary associations.

Saira (not sure of pronounciation) means traveller in Arabic

[name]Isra[/name] - Arabic for “nocturnal journey”

[name]Kit[/name] - After [name]Kit[/name] [name]Carson[/name], an American frontiersman and explorer

Other famous explorers:
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Chalmers[/name] [name]Adams[/name] - writer/Premier Female [name]Explorer[/name] of Her Time
[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Earhart[/name]
The four founding embers of the Society of women explorers:
[name]Marguerite[/name] [name]Harrison[/name]
[name]Blair[/name] [name]Niles[/name]
[name]Gertrude[/name] [name]Shelby[/name] (Could use either name)
[name]Gertrude[/name] [name]Emerson[/name]
[name]Louise[/name] Arner [name]Boyd[/name] - Arctic [name]Explorer[/name]
[name]Isabella[/name] [name]Bird[/name] - Travelled the world
Gudridur - Most travelled woman of the middle ages. Explored the New World 500 years before [name]Columbus[/name]. Perhaps Gurda/[name]Gerda[/name] would be an alternate version.

I just got a book from the library called “[name]Baby[/name] Names Made Easy” by [name]Amanda[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Barden[/name] that has a section on travel related names. The whole book is organized by meaning, it is pretty neat. Here are a few good ones:
[name]Journey[/name] - travel
[name]Odessa[/name] - odyssey
[name]Sloane[/name] - Irish urname “expedition”
Viatrix - traveler
[name]Zita[/name] - to seek

There are others but most have to do with a direction (north etc.) or mean “foreigner”. I think a few months back there was a blog post here that had to do with traveling and walking. Good luck!

Travelling names! [name]Lovely[/name]!
Sorry for any repeats, this took some time and a few people posted while I wrote…

[name]Isra[/name] mean ‘Nocturnal [name]Journey[/name]’
[name]Journey[/name] itself is used as a name
Saira possibly means [name]Traveller[/name]
[name]Hermione[/name] comes from [name]Hermes[/name] who was the patron of Travellers in greek mythology. [name]Hermia[/name] is another variant.
[name]Sloane[/name] means traveller
Leid is an obscure old Norse name meaning ‘pathfinder’ which I think is an awesome meaning!
[name]Elida[/name] is a Norse name meaning ‘sailor with wings’ which is very relevant to travelling.
Endrine is another Norse name which means ‘rides alone’
Ayumu is Jabanese and means ‘walk’

[name]Romany[/name]/Romani, [name]Rumer[/name], [name]Gypsy[/name] - Gypsies are Travellers by definition  [name]Rumer[/name] is a wonderful name
[name]Kale[/name] is a [name]Gypsy[/name] subgroup living in [name]Wales[/name], but there’s also a group of Gypsies by this name living in Finland/[name]Sweden[/name]

Pilgrims are travellers. De”iridh is apparently a scottish name meaning Pilgrim, pronounced roughly JOR-ee according to behindthename.com and DOR-ee according to babynamesworld.com.

[name]Christopher[/name] is the patron saint of travellers, [name]Chris[/name] would be good for a girl, or she could be called [name]Christopher[/name] because her parents thought she was/wanted a boy which would make an interesting story.
[name]Fernanda[/name] is a form of [name]Ferdinand[/name] which means ‘journey+brave’ which I would make out as ‘brave traveller’.

Although [name]Mercury[/name] was a God, the -ee sound at the end would make the name OK for a girl. He was the [name]Roman[/name] god of travellers, the equivalent of [name]Hermes[/name].

Looking into more mythology, I found these:
[name]Sol[/name]/Sunna - Norse/Germanic goddess of the sun, travelled across the sky everyday in a chariot pulling the sun. All sun-related names could be suitable when you think about it
[name]Gaia[/name] mean earth, that where you travel, mostly…
[name]Iris[/name] is apparently a feminine version of [name]Hermes[/name] also part of the Greek pantheon, I did not know that!! [name]Iris[/name], [name]Goddess[/name] of Travel

I’m about to fall asleep now, so I’ll give up for now…

PS: found one more, and this one is AWESOME! Rosenda! It’s the feminine form of [name]Rosendo[/name] which means ‘fame+path’ which I guess would be a well-travelled path? I love the sound of it!! and the [name]Rose[/name]/[name]Rosie[/name] nickname possibility! I’m adding it to my list immediately!!
Also, [name]Lane[/name]. [name]How[/name] did we forget?!
