Needing help finding a good match to siblings:
[name_f]Violette[/name_f] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Mai[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_m]Sebastien[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] Ang
My husband is [name_m]French[/name_m] so we love names that could work in either country. I’m thinking its a boy, so some faves are [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], but I also like the more modern name [name_u]Sage[/name_u] as well. I’m totally open to suggestions! Thoughts, everyone?
As you probably know from your husband “sage” in [name_m]French[/name_m] means well-behaved, and is often used to describe children’s (good!) behavior.
I think [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] goes really well with your other childrens’ names! I also thought of these as [name_m]French[/name_m]/American choices:
Yes, I know the meaning of [name_u]Sage[/name_u], which I kinda like. I also like that it also relates to wisdom. However, that is from my American perspective. I’m not sure how the [name_m]French[/name_m] would receive it, as they are quite traditional in baby naming. Are you [name_m]French[/name_m]? What do you think?
My first choice is [name_m]Raphael[/name_m], but not sure how my American family will receive it. It makes them think of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:( They might just have to get over it!
I also really like [name_m]Julian[/name_m], but is it too close to [name_u]Julie[/name_u]? And [name_m]Matheo[/name_m] is great too, but I would never want him to me called [name_m]Matt[/name_m]…
I grew up in the US, but I live in [name_f]France[/name_f]. You’re right that baby names tend to be very traditional here. To be honest, I think [name_u]Sage[/name_u] would be a surprising choice for [name_m]French[/name_m] people. If you go for a more traditional first, you could put [name_u]Sage[/name_u] in the middle spot–hopefully that will guarantee a wise and well-behaved child
As for [name_m]Rafael[/name_m], remind your family that the Ninja [name_m]Turtle[/name_m] was named after the artist
Personally, I love [name_m]Julian[/name_m]/[name_m]Julien[/name_m] for a boy. But maybe you’d prefer [name_u]Jules[/name_u] (since it doesn’t have the “[name_u]Juli[/name_u]” part in it)?
Also
[name_m]Pierre[/name_m] (i know it seems plain to the [name_m]French[/name_m], but it isn’t in English)
