When I need last names, I go to Google maps, pick a random area somewhere far from me, and zoom in to see the streets. A lot of streets are named after people, so there’s a lot of potential inspiration for last names there. If you don’t see any you like, you can just switch to a different section. If you know where that character’s family is from (for example, say they’re Italian), you can go check out street names in [name]Italy[/name]. Be sure to Google any name you find though, sometimes they have werid connotations and aren’t actually named after a person.
