We are expecting boy/girl twins in 5/6 weeks and cannot settle on our names!! We are no where with girls names right now, but are nearly certain we want to name our son “[name]Ford[/name]”.
However, we are having a tough time with the middle name. Some names we are considering for middles are: [name]Pierson[/name], [name]Sutton[/name], and [name]Hamilton[/name]. I obviously like surnames, but I also really like traditional boy names. Any and all ideas are welcome!! Once we settle on this little guy’s name then I can focus on our baby girl!
I love [name]Ford[/name]! We’re considering it for our little one on the way as well (which is how I found your post). It’s my opinion that with a surname first name, a surname MN is a little much. That being said, of your three options, I prefer [name]Sutton[/name].
I agree with nanners-- two surnames in a row, followed by your actual surname, is dangerously close to “law firm syndrome” (wherein your baby’s name sounds like a law firm: [name]Ford[/name], [name]Sutton[/name] & [name]Thompson[/name], LLP).
I would select something longer in the middle to balance monosyllabic [name]Ford[/name], and something rather traditional. I.e. [name]Ford[/name] [name]Christopher[/name], [name]Ford[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name], [name]Ford[/name] [name]Dominic[/name].
I too think another surname would be a little much. I really like [name]Blade[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Ford[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]. Also, [name]Ford[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] would be a great classic, traditional name. [name]Ford[/name] [name]Jamison[/name]/[name]Jameson[/name] might be nice and feels a little surname-ish but also traditional because of [name]James[/name] and might be a good compromise.
I really like [name]Ford[/name] [name]Christopher[/name] and [name]Ford[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]! I hadn’t considered either before. Keep the suggestions coming everyone! If this helps, my last name is two syllables and very Polish.
