Help! We had planned to name our baby daughter (to be born in a few weeks) [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but now that the royals have chosen that name for their daughter, I am worried that it will become too popular and that everyone will think we named her after the princess. Any other ideas for classic names? We already have a daughter [name_u]June[/name_u] and a son [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. We had also liked [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], but I think it’s too close to [name_u]Elliott[/name_u].
I agree. I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is going to rocket in terms of popularity.
[name_u]June[/name_u], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] & _____
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
I really like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] with your kids’ names.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is already quite popular, at number 11 in the U.S. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it doesn’t get much of an uptick from the royal baby, if you don’t want a popular name then you probably want to keep looking. (Of course, it’s popular for a good reason, it’s such a sweet, old-fashioned classic!)
Names inspired by vintage, gentle [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]:

The names you like - [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - are all really lovely and I’m sure you’ll find one just as nice.

I think [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] would be a great fit!
[name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_f]Laura[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] is one of my favourite after [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I like it a little more, it has a softer prettier feel to it. What about [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] or [name_f]Anna[/name_f]?
I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but I agree with you. It was already kind of popular, now it will sky rocket to the top of all Girls Names list. I also agree [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is too close to [name_u]Elliott[/name_u].

I’m going to second [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. All feel similar to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but there are less likely to be 5 in her kindergarten class.
I don’t know if it will make a significant difference. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is already popular, and for good reason, it’s a lovely name! If it’s the name you have chosen I really don’t think you should change, or justify, your choice. If popularity was a major concern then maybe [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] wasn’t the best choice from the start.
This is pretty much what I was thinking! Wishing you the best.

Agreed! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is already #11. There’s not much higher it can go!
Ditto! Depending on where you live [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is most likely already very popular. It’s a good name and I doubt people will assume you chose the name because the Royals chose it. If they chose something completely out of the ordinary and you followed suit then yeah maybe people might think you were inspired by their choice. But with something as popular and classic as [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], that shouldn’t be an issue.
Names that feel similar to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] imo: [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f],
Or perhaps [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] or [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is lovely, but feels too close to [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] for me. [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] gives it a slightly different feel.
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] or [name_f]Claire[/name_f] would be great!
What about [name_f]Charmaine[/name_f]?
Having ‘charm’ as the first word is quite charming really.
Still quite similar to your original name but certainly not as common.
