I understand what you mean!
You could go with the slightly less familiar variant [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] (mad-eh-lane) if you like the pronunciation. That may provide some of the individual feel of Pepperlyn.
[name_f]Ireland[/name_f] is a pretty sibling name! What about Leityanne (pronounced “ley-tee-anne”). We are hung up on that one! It just rings Bells when we say it. I’m sure once people say it quickly it will probably be pronounced more like “ley-dee-anne”.
Maybe almost like Lydian??
Both you and she are going to have to deal with the issue of people butchering the spelling and pronunciation. I think [name_u]Leighton[/name_u]/[name_m]Layton[/name_m] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] is the best way to get to “Leityanne.”
When I say Leityanne out loud to myself it winds up as Lady [name_f]Ann[/name_f] unless I say it very slowly and deliberately. You mentioned Lydian as a mispronunciation, but I wonder whether you might be open to it as an alternative since I think Liddy-anne is easier to say (at least with my accent!). Maybe Lydianne–does that spelling seem intuitive/appealing? I also wonder whether you might like Lucianne? (Pronounced [name_f]Lu[/name_f]-see-ann).
A previous poster had suggested [name_f]Imogene[/name_f] with the [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] pronunciation. I just wanted to mention that I know an [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u], and I think that’s a sweet name. She sometimes goes by just [name_f]Emma[/name_f], but her family calls her by both names.
You know, after I typed Lydian and then said it a few times, i started playing with that spelling, and yes I really like the spelling Lydianne! My DH likes the way it rolls as well We may have just gotten a little closer I honestly love the sound of [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], but we unfortunately both know of a man with the name [name_u]Jean[/name_u] that is extremely crotchety ;-/. He’s a very unhappy farmer haha. crazy how someone you know can make that much of an impact on a name for your little one.
Thank you so much for helping me with inspiration and doing so in such a kind matter!
I’m so glad my comment was helpful to you. Thanks for taking the time to reply, I always love following along in the naming process here. I hope you’ll let us know what you decide on! [name_f]Happy[/name_f] naming!
