I need to change my name for work. It will not be an official name change, but more of a stage name. I just started modeling for a large modeling agency. There are a lot of models in our agency with my first name, [name]Natalie[/name], and my common last name, [name]Olson[/name]. My agent suggested I use an alternate name because even though my photos get me work, having an unusual name makes me stand out a little more. It seemed a little odd at first, but I’m a name nerd so I would love the opportunity to rename myself for fun!
My daughter’s middle name is [name]Natalia[/name]. This has always been my favorite name, and I always wanted my name to be [name]Natalia[/name]. Would it be weird for me to use this as my work name? Also, I could just use my normal last name, or I could use my future daughter’s middle name, [name]Calypso[/name], as my second name/last name. What do you think? You can see my pic in my pf. [name]Do[/name] any of these fit me?
[name]Natalia[/name] [name]Calypso[/name]
[name]Natalia[/name] Olson
[name]Calypso[/name] Olson
or I could do something like Natalia de Calypso… or is that too obvious, like Charlotte de Calypso?
Others I like (my favorite girl names, of course):
[name]Mila[/name] [name]Alexandrie[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Vienne[/name]
[name]Lilia[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]
Azelie
[name]Lilou[/name]
I think [name]Calypso[/name] sounds like it is trying too hard to be exotic. I would find it hard to believe that someones name was [name]Calypso[/name]…
I would stick with [name]Natalie[/name] [name]Olson[/name] personally… But changing it to [name]Natalia[/name] sounds ok too!
[name]Do[/name] you have a middle name that you could use or maybe a family name to honor someone?? If you wanted to be really “different” go by [name]Olson[/name] and get a different last name!
I like [name]Natalia[/name], and I also like your idea of [name]Isla[/name] [name]Vienne[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] [name]Francesca[/name], thoguh that one is a bit frilly, it’s memorable.
I would spell [name]Natalia[/name] as [name]Nathalia[/name] because it looks a little more exciting, but I agree with the first post about [name]Calypso[/name] looking like its trying too hard. I would look into using a family name as your last name. In my case I would use [name]Douglas[/name] as my last because it’s my grandfathers middle name (goes by it as his first, though) and my dads middle. It’s not the most attractive name, but seeing as I’m not using their lastname it’s a nice way to keep it family related. I noticed your daughters name and thought [name]Nathalia[/name] [name]Eve[/name] would be nice.
[name]Alexandrie[/name] [name]Olsen[/name] is a great idea like sugarfoot said, as well as [name]Nathalia[/name]. [name]Calypso[/name] is a huge no imo.
Why not [name]Nathalia[/name] [name]Alexandrie[/name] or [name]Nathalia[/name] [name]Alexandre[/name]?
Thank you all for your input. [name]Calypso[/name] is out of the picture now. I thought it was a cool idea to use my first daughter’s mn, and my future daughter’s mn. I don’t want my name to seem fake, though.
I think it’s a good idea to use something meaningful to me. I would like to use something to honor my heritage. I am Hebrew, French, and Russian. I also want to stick with ‘N’ names because I don’t want to stray too far from my real name.
Hebrew Names:
[name]Nissa[/name]
[name]Niva[/name]
[name]Noa[/name] - This is my third favorite.
[name]Nava[/name] - I think this is my favorite.
Russian:
[name]Natalia[/name] - This is my secod favorite.
I love French names but not any that start with ‘N’
So I’m down to
[name]Nava[/name]
[name]Natalia[/name]
[name]Noa[/name]
Second/last names could be:
[name]Olson[/name]
[name]Tanner[/name] - family name
[name]Clark[/name] - family name
[name]Alexandrie[/name] - incorporates the French
[name]Vienne[/name] - I love [name]Vienna[/name], [name]Austria[/name]
I’m really liking [name]Natalia[/name] and [name]Nava[/name].
[name]Natalia[/name] [name]Vienne[/name] or [name]Natalia[/name] [name]Alexandrie[/name] would be my top picks.
[name]Nava[/name] [name]Vienna[/name] would even be nice, imo.
Update: Thank you all for your help. I did some digging and discovered a family name I never knew about, Gabrieli. I immediately fell in love, and knew that would be my second name. DH was insistent that I use [name]Noa[/name] as my first name since he loves it so much. So the name I will be working under is [name]Noa[/name] Gabrieli.
