[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! So for my story I need a male name for one of my characters. The name I originally wanted was [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], as I think it fits my character but it doesn’t really fit the era/setting of the story. It’s just too modern I think. Anyway I really liked [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] because my character is a 15-17 year old boy who’s very niave and adventourous, extremely boyish so to say but he is quite rich and upper class. His older brother is named [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] and their last name is Goodwill. I’m looking for a vintage name, nothing too crazy that gives off that boyish adventerous side but would still be chosen by an upperclass couple. Anything from the 1800’s to say the 1960’s. The story itself sets place in the 1920-30’s btw. But should I keep [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] anyway? I’m just uncertain and would like some advice as well as some other options.
Thanks in advance!
I’m sorry I think [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] sounds far too modern.
I had a look through this website Top names of the 1920s, and the names I thought might suit him are:
[name_m]Eugene[/name_m]
[name_m]Earnest[/name_m]
[name_u]Stanley[/name_u]
[name_m]Marvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Leroy[/name_m]
[name_m]Elmer[/name_m]
[name_m]Chester[/name_m]
[name_m]Leon[/name_m]
[name_m]Roland[/name_m]
[name_m]Dewey[/name_m]
[name_m]Irvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Lowell[/name_m]
[name_m]Orville[/name_m]
Clsyton
Thank you so much! I’ve decided on the name, [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] Chesterfield Goodwill.
