I’m new to the whole forum thing and heard it is a great way to get some good advice and opinions. I am expecting my third child, a girl, in a week or two and cannot pick a name for the life of me. I already have two boys, [name]Aiden[/name] and [name]Liam[/name], and thought naming a girl would be so easy! My husband is from Northern [name]Ireland[/name] so is hinting at another Irish name (our boys names are family names) but am willing to explore my options. That being said, I do have two names I am partial too - [name]Quinn[/name] and [name]Kinley[/name]. I made the mistake of telling my in-laws I liked [name]Quinn[/name] and they were adamant (having been born and raised in Northern [name]Ireland[/name]) that that was a boys name. I realize that it is my choice (and my husband’s sort of :D) but I admit it made me second guess [name]Quinn[/name] (which I really think is cute).
Other names I did like besides [name]Quinn[/name] and [name]Kinley[/name]:
I love [name]Quinn[/name] for a girl. It is your daughter so I say go for it! I like [name]Adeliade[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] too though. Another suggestion is [name]Nora[/name]?
[name]Aiden[/name], [name]Liam[/name], and [name]Kinley[/name] are really nice together!
[name]Kinley[/name] has grown on me a lot over the years, along with [name]Kenley[/name] and [name]Kinsey[/name]. I think [name]Claire[/name] would also sound nice with your sons names.
[name]How[/name] does your husband feel about [name]Quinn[/name]? I understand that to your in-laws ears, it is going to sound like a boys name and will take some getting used to, but if you and your husband both see it as your clear favorite, you may need to hold your ground. Can pretty much guarantee they’ll get used to it being a unisex name once they see it on their granddaughter.
If you’re looking for more Irish names the maybe you could try ; [name]Aisling[/name], [name]Caoimhe[/name] (keeva), saoirse (sersha), [name]Aoibheann[/name].
I know it’s long but I love [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Isobella[/name] as a combo
I am all for [name]Adelaide[/name], you can use the nn [name]Adele[/name], [name]Ada[/name], [name]Leda[/name]. I don’t like [name]Quinn[/name], it is not my style at all.
I love [name]Quinn[/name] for a girl. I realize it is traditionally a boy’s name but today it is much better for a girl. Personally I like it much better than [name]Kinley[/name].
We aren’t telling my in-laws any of the names we are considering this time around because they just don’t get them. My daughters name is [name]Brynn[/name] and my FIL didn’t like it at all when we mentioned it because he thought it was a man’s name. If you wait till the baby is born they don’t care nearly as much because they are too excited about the baby.
My husband is on the fence but his parents input is putting him off a bit. I still like it though. I might just have to wait until she is here to see what she looks like! Who would have thought it would be so hard to name a girl?
I vote for [name]Claire[/name]! [name]Quinn[/name] seems masculine and [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Isobella[/name] [name]Joan[/name] seems like a lot to me.
