*[name]Penelope[/name] – Really really love this name. Sounds so sweet! One of my favorites.
[name]Lydia[/name] – Quite pretty, I like it but it’s still a little boring to me.
*[name]Claudia[/name] – [name]Love[/name] this. I prefer the KLOW-dia pronunciation with the nn [name]Cloudy[/name].
*[name]Helena[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name] this name, another one of my favorites. I prefer the pronunciation of HEL-ehn-uh.
[name]Gemma[/name] – Very cute name - only complaint is that the emma portion will lump her in with the masses of Emmas and Emilys out there.
[name]Juliet[/name] – Pretty, but a little too princessy sounding for my taste. Definitely [name]Romeo[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] is the first association.
[name]Ripley[/name] – I don’t think anyone could ever be cool enough to live up to this name. I wouldn’t choose it even though it does sound kind of cool. I think of [name]Ripley[/name] from the Aliens movies, [name]Ripley[/name]'s believe it or not and the word “rippling”
[name]Harper[/name] – Meh I don’t really like the sound of this name.
[name]Evangeline[/name] – Too frilly and religious sounding. Makes me think of Evangelical Christians… not good!!!
[name]Leah[/name] – Too many spelling variations and pronunciation problems for such a simple name. But yes I do love this name though I prefer the [name]LAY[/name]-uh pronunciation. =p
[name]Naomi[/name] – [name]Love[/name] it though I don’t think I would ever use it. I also love [name]Niobe[/name].
[name]Holland[/name] – Too masculine sounding… makes me think of tulips and windmills.
[name]Caroline[/name] – A sweet classic name.
[name]Celeste[/name] – I like it but I also think this name is a little too princessy.
[name]Georgia[/name] – It’s ok, not my favorite. [name]Don[/name]'t care for the inescapable place-name association. [name]Caroline[/name] is better =p
[name]Teddy[/name] – Cute as a nickname for [name]Theodora[/name], but I wouldn’t go with just [name]Teddy[/name]… makes me think of the lingerie!
[name]Willow[/name] – Sweet but not my favorite. A little too trendy.
[name]Beatrice[/name] – Very quirky and cute, I like it.
[name]Viviana[/name] – Too princessy, I prefer [name]Vivian[/name].
[name]Penelope[/name]- Not a fan. To people I know, it’s a stereotypical “weird” name
[name]Lydia[/name]- [name]Love[/name] it.
[name]Claudia[/name]- I was just thinking about how much I love [name]Claudia[/name]! It’s got one of the most consistent popularity graphs of any name I know of, but it’s not overused. A great thing!
[name]Helena[/name]- I like it, but I think the pronunciation issue (is it huh-[name]LEE[/name]-na, HELL-en-a, or huh-[name]LAY[/name]-na?) is just too much. But if that doesn’t bother you, I’d love to see another little [name]Helena[/name] around.
[name]Gemma[/name]- I like this a lot.
[name]Juliet[/name]- Nice.
[name]Ripley[/name]- Believe it or not
[name]Harper[/name]- As far as occupation names go, this one doesn’t really bother me.
[name]Evangeline[/name]- Gorgeous
[name]Leah[/name]- Very pretty
[name]Naomi[/name]- Classic but underused.
[name]Holland[/name]- A country, not a person
[name]Caroline[/name]- I’d love to have a [name]Caroline[/name] just to sing Sweet [name]Caroline[/name] to her. I love it.
[name]Celeste[/name]- Nice. Great as a middle.
[name]Georgia[/name]- Very pretty
[name]Teddy[/name]- It’s okay for a boy. I don’t like it for a girl, even as a nickname
[name]Willow[/name]- I whip my hair back and forth is all I can think of
[name]Beatrice[/name]- Very quirky classic. I love nn [name]Bea[/name]
[name]Viviana[/name]- Stunning. I like it most of the intire viv- family.
[name]Penelope[/name]: This name has become really popular on Nameberry. I like the nn [name]Penny[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]: Beautiful, historic and elegant
[name]Claudia[/name]: Such a lovely name, I love recommending it
[name]Helena[/name]: So much prettier than just [name]Helen[/name]. I only like it pronounce [name]Helen[/name]-uh.
[name]Gemma[/name]: I used to really like this name a few years ago. It’s so-so for me now, but not a bad name.
[name]Juliet[/name]: Also really popular with Berries. Not for me, but it is a nice name and flows well with lots of other names.
[name]Evangeline[/name]: This is very feminine. I like long names.
[name]Caroline[/name]: Total classic, you can NEVER go wrong with this name!
[name]Celeste[/name]: My favorite from your entire list.
[name]Willow[/name]: This is ok, not my favorite. It reminds me of [name]Willow[/name] [name]Smith[/name] and I think it might get popular soon.
[name]Beatrice[/name]: I prefer [name]Beatrix[/name], but [name]Beatrice[/name] is nice too and sometimes flows better than [name]Beatrix[/name] depending on your surname.
[name]Viviana[/name]: I prefer [name]Vivienne[/name], but this is nice too.
[name]Don[/name]'t Like:
[name]Ripley[/name]: I agree with a pp who mentioned [name]Ripley[/name]'s Believe It Or Not. Not an association you want for your child.
[name]Harper[/name]: This name has gotten really trendy, and I prefer gender specific names, while [name]Harper[/name] is a bit androgynous.
[name]Leah[/name]: Maybe it’s just me but I never liked this name. I find it boring.
[name]Naomi[/name]: Always strongly disliked this name.
[name]Holland[/name]: Only a country to me; it’s like naming a child [name]England[/name] or Spain.
[name]Georgia[/name]: I much prefer [name]Georgiana[/name].
[name]Teddy[/name]: This is only a boy’s nickname to me. I can’t imagine it on a girl at all.
Thanks. I love getting input from people who love names. Most of the names I probably wouldn’t ever use, like [name]Ripley[/name], I just thought it was a cool unisex name. I definitely love [name]Helena[/name] the most and I also prefer the Hell-a-nuh pronunciation.
