Need an english version of this name?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], guys! My little step-sister just joined me in an english-speaking country but we have been encountering problems with people pronouncing her name. [name_u]Lucky[/name_u] for her, we learned that the school allows her to find a name in english that looks/sounds like hers so she can use it more easily than the one she was born with. We have a neighbour called Eylul who became [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] and she loves the idea of doing that to her own name before school starts. So I thought I’d ask you for help.
Her name is [name_f]Thais[/name_f] (pronounced tie-EES) and the only alternative that comes to my mind is [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]. Can you guys think of anything else?

[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]/[name_f]Talia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Tyra[/name_f]/[name_u]Tylee[/name_u]
[name_f]Tia[/name_f]

My first thought was [name_u]Isa[/name_u] as it shares the same long e sound.

I like the suggestion of [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. Other ideas:

[name_f]Therese[/name_f]
[name_f]Teresa[/name_f]
[name_f]Denise[/name_f]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_u]Tracy[/name_u]

Maybe [name_f]Tess[/name_f] could work, keeping the T and the S.

My first thought was [name_f]Thea[/name_f].

Other suggestions:
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]
[name_u]Tatum[/name_u]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_u]Sierra[/name_u]

What about [name_f]Louise[/name_f]? [name_f]Thea[/name_f] (thee-ah) also looks visually similar to [name_f]Thais[/name_f] but doesn’t sound that similar.

I noticed that some of the suggestions- [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Tyra[/name_f], maybe even [name_f]Teresa[/name_f]- have more than one common spelling or pronunciation. That doesn’t make it unusable of course, but just pointing out that it might be inconvenient for your sister- presumably if she wants a name in English to use at school, it’s so that people would get it more easily.

[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Therese[/name_f] (and my suggestion [name_f]Louise[/name_f]) are probably the closest names to [name_f]Thais[/name_f], that would be easy in that aspect.

My first thought was [name_f]Elise[/name_f]! I also like the suggestions of [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] :).

[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_u]Tyler[/name_u]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]

[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Tia[/name_f] (my favorite! also means auntie in Spanish) a common easy to pronounce name

I vote for the previous suggestions - [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Tia[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f]

[name_f]Tyla[/name_f]
[name_f]Tia[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]

[name_f]Taya[/name_f] ([name_u]TAY[/name_u]- uh)
[name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]

[name_f]Therese[/name_f] is what I would suggest

My first idea was [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]? I also love the suggestions of [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_u]Reese[/name_u]!
