My boys list is nice but nothing particular jumps out at me, and there’s not that many combos that I love. So I’m on the hunt for more names! You can see my favorites in my signature, but some others that I’ve had my eye on lately are:
[name]Riley[/name]
[name]Seamus[/name]/[name]Shea[/name]
[name]Finn[/name]
[name]River[/name]
[name]Sage[/name] (mn)
[name]Garret/name
[name]Harvey[/name]
[name]Rafferty[/name]/[name]Rafe[/name] (how do you say [name]Rafe[/name]?)
[name]Cobalt[/name] (mn)
[name]Tybalt[/name]
Looking at my list, I’d say I like Irish names, nature names, and unisex names mostly, but I’m pretty open minded! So just throw as many suggestions as you can at me! Not really a fan of “traditional” names i.e. [name]Charles[/name], [name]William[/name], etc.
Also, just a quick question, how should I spell [name]Shepherd[/name]? [name]Shepherd[/name] is the “proper” spelling but I also like [name]Shepard[/name].
[name]Riley[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] this on a boy but I fear it’s getting to popular with girls
[name]Seamus[/name]/[name]Shea[/name] - I’ve never liked this name but i don’t know why
[name]Finn[/name] - Like it ok but I think I like [name]Finnian[/name] better
[name]River[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] this
[name]Sage[/name] (mn) - I love this too and think it could work fine as a first name too
[name]Garret/name - You already know i like this one as you posted about it for me!
[name]Harvey[/name] - This seems to kiddish to work on a grown up [name]IMO[/name]
[name]Rafferty[/name]/[name]Rafe[/name] (how do you say [name]Rafe[/name]?) - [name]Love[/name] [name]Rafferty[/name] a lot here lately. I say [name]Rafe[/name] like it looks. RAYF
[name]Cobalt[/name] (mn) - Eh nms
[name]Tybalt[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this!
Thanks guys! I like [name]Gray[/name]/[name]Grey[/name] but I can’t decide whether it’s masculine or feminine. I’ll put it on the maybe list!
I have the same problem with Brecken as I do [name]Gray[/name]/[name]Grey[/name]! It sounds masculine but it does have a feminine appeal…
[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Riordan[/name]…if only it didn’t sound like [name]Jordan[/name]
Totally forgot about [name]Storm[/name]! It was the middle name of someone I knew in middle school, and I thought it was the coolest thing [name]EVER[/name]. Loving it again now
As for [name]Micah[/name], I went to school with a girl named J’[name]Micah[/name] so that name is totally feminine, but I do like the (male) singer [name]Mika[/name] and that’s been growing on me…do you think [name]Mika[/name]/[name]Mikah[/name] could work on a boy? I say meeka for [name]Mika[/name] and myka for [name]Mikah[/name].
Thanks guys! Keep the suggestions coming. oh, and as for [name]Rafe[/name], I guess it’s way too close to “rape”. [name]Shame[/name], I really liked it.
As for [name]Riordan[/name], I’ve actually never heard it pronounce like [name]Jordan[/name]. There’s an author, [name]Rick[/name] [name]Riordan[/name], and he pronounces it Ryer-dan (like fireman). This is from his website “[name]Rick[/name]’s last name is pronounced Ryer’-dan. (Rhymes with fireman, sort of.)”
and here it is on Forvo:
The only other pronunciation I’ve seen is REAR-don as in these two people:
