I’m pregnant!! It’s still super early, but I figured we might as well try and tackle the boy name option, since we have our girls’ picked out and set in stone (for now, haha.)
So far, the ones my husband and I agree on are:
[name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]/ or [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_u]Lee[/name_u] is FIL’s first name
Both DH and I both have brothers named [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u]/[name_u]Michael[/name_u] or [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] would be for [name_m]Myron[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u], a key founder of the Appalachian [name_m]Trail[/name_m]. DH and I are very avid hikers/outdoors people
[name_u]James[/name_u] would be for DH, his first name is [name_u]James[/name_u]
DH and I both have brothers named [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_m]Talon[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u]/ or [name_u]Kelly[/name_u]
[name_u]Kelly[/name_u] is just one I like. My dad’s name is [name_m]Kelvin[/name_m]. I worry [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] is too girly, though. And I don’t think DH would go for it.
[name_u]Avery[/name_u], again for [name_m]Myron[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u]
I also really like [name_u]Max[/name_u], but I do not like any [name_u]Max[/name_u]- names and I don’t know if [name_u]Max[/name_u] is too short/nickname-y?
DH’s absolute favorite is [name_m]Talon[/name_m]. Mine is tied between [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]. Which one I love more depends entirely on the day.
I just want to find one I love as much as our chosen name if we have a daughter.
Any further suggestions or opinions? I know [name_m]Talon[/name_m] is not super popular, but we like it regardless.
I love Casper and Max and don’t think Max is too nicknamey to use at all! I know a couple of kids who are just Max actually. I can’t say I’m a fan of Talon to be honest… It makes me think of a bird of prey. Not that that’s bad, it just seems more a word than a name to me.
I really like Casper Lee and Max Lee although Michael works well too.
I prefer [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] to [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u], I think [name_u]Michael[/name_u] adds a nice classic balance to the interesting, more unusual [name_m]Casper[/name_m]. [name_m]Casper[/name_m] is probably my favourite out of your options! [name_m]Cas[/name_m] is a cute nickname.
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], and [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] all work really well! [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] is light and fresh. I really love the meaning for you behind [name_u]Avery[/name_u]. [name_u]James[/name_u] has a family connection for me, so I’m biased to automatically love that name, but I think [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] would be very meaningful and lovely for you.
I do prefer [name_m]Talon[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] to [name_m]Talon[/name_m] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u], as I find [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] too feminine. I don’t like [name_m]Talon[/name_m] much either, I think it’s overly masculine and just doesn’t sit right with me.
I don’t think [name_u]Max[/name_u] is too nicknamey at all. All the [name_u]Max[/name_u]'s I know haven’t had a [name_u]Max[/name_u]- name, as you put it. I like [name_u]Max[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u].
Out of all your combo’s, I like [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] best. [name_m]Casper[/name_m] is familiar but no too popular, and [name_u]Michael[/name_u] is a great timeless classic. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]? I quite like the idea of honoring your SO like that and it has a nice flow.
I do love [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] for a boy. I probably wouldn’t be brave enough to use it as a first name, but as a middle I think it’s perfect.
I like [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] and [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u].
[name_m]Just[/name_m] a heads up: [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is some sort of celebrity (a Youtuber, I think), and I recognised the name immediately even though I know almost nothing about him, so others might too.
I’m also not a fan of [name_m]Talon[/name_m]: like @tdfm said, it just reminds me of a bird of prey, and so it seems like quite an aggressive name.
I also really love [name_u]Max[/name_u] for you, and I think it’s absolutely able to stand on its own.
My favorite name from your list is [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u], followed by [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]. [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is a YouTuber/influencer who is fairly well known, so I might stray away from that name. I think [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] would be a great combo as well!
[name_m]Talon[/name_m] isn’t my favorite name as it just brings to mind literal talons on a bird. Similar names that you might like are [name_m]Dallen[/name_m], [name_m]Tanner[/name_m], [name_u]Tatum[/name_u], and [name_u]Tate[/name_u]. However, I still much prefer [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] as they have a more timeless feel to them.
I also adore the name [name_u]Max[/name_u]! I definitely think it can stand all on its own. [name_u]Max[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] or [name_u]Max[/name_u] [name_m]Kelvin[/name_m] sound nice to my ears.
