Starting out on a new story and I need help with names. I have some ideas but I’d love to see what you can come up with.
Takes place in 1908 – [name]England[/name]
Narrator: 17, green eyes and dark brown hair. She is youngest child of a wealthy English family. She’s generally wise beyond her years but she can have a tendency to daydream. She always feels a little out of place wherever she goes. I’m thinking of a very charming and unique vintage name for her. A nickname is important. My first thought is [name]Araminta[/name], nn [name]Minty[/name].
Distant Cousin: 18, green eyes and light blonde hair. Classic old money [name]East[/name] Coast American girl. She has two sides to her: the idealist and the vixen. She can see the good in people and manipulate it at the same time, just depends on how she’s feeling that day. I’d like her name to have a heavier, darker feeling. [name]Veronica[/name], maybe?
[name]Love[/name] interest: 20, navy blue eyes and light brown hair. He is half French and half English, also quite wealthy. He comes off as very cold and reserved. He’s a mysterious newcomer to the social circle and I think his name should reflect the mysteriousness. [name]Mystery[/name] and subtle warmth all wrapped in one would be amazing.
Middle and last names would be really appreciated as well. Thank you so much!
I concentrated on the half French half English guy as - to me - the girl’s names could be anything. His is the one that seems to matter as, in 1908, it’s probably going to fit his heritage.
My first thought was something double barrelled (like Jean-Pierre but not as common) that hinted at both his nationalities but still rolled well as a whole.
For the Narrator, I think any of these names would be great: [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Mirabel[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Aurelia[/name]. They all can have nicknames.
The Distant Cousin’s names could possibly be [name]Christina[/name], [name]Vanessa[/name], or [name]Windsor[/name]-- I looked on your favorite girls names and I like this one. I also think your first choice, [name]Veronica[/name], would be perfect. A nickname for her could be Vee or [name]Ronnie[/name].
For the [name]Love[/name] Interest, I came up with [name]Rhys[/name], [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Finnegan[/name], [name]Malik[/name], [name]Landon[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]James[/name], or [name]Madden[/name]. Good luck with your book!
[name]Love[/name] Interest (I’m doing this first, so I don’t forget my name ideas):
First:
[name]Jett[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Parker[/name]
Middle (something more classic):
[name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name]
Sorry, I have absolutely no idea for a last name. Probably something more French, depending on if his mom is the french side of the family, or if the dad is.
I will come back to you later on the other ones, I don’t have any ideas right now.
[name]Araminta[/name] [name]Coralie[/name] Lyttleton (nn [name]Minty[/name]/[name]Minnie[/name]/[name]Min[/name]) for the protagonist.
[name]Cressida[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Hughes[/name] (nn Cress or [name]Cressie[/name]) for the cousin.
[name]Louis[/name]-[name]Benoit[/name] Duvernay for the love interest. I’m crazy in love with name [name]Benoit[/name].
