I’m looking for first name possibilities for boy and girl to go with middle names I’d like to use. Both middle names are from my grandparents, who I’d definitely like to honor if possible!
Some options I’ve been drawn to so far are [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Luella[/name_f] for a girl, and [name_u]Cade[/name_u] for a boy. But I’m open to ideas!
BOY
______ [name_m]Basil[/name_m] Hagedorn (last name pronounced Hag-A-Dorn)
Your grandparents have great names! [name_m]Basil[/name_m] & [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] are charmingly vintage & spunky mns to work with.
For a girl, [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] is quite nice, but it’s a teeny bit popular if that bothers you. Also, [name_u]ViviaN[/name_u] [name_f]MaxiNe[/name_f] HagedorN has a lot of 'n’s. [name_f]Luella[/name_f] on the other hand is perfect! [name_f]Luella[/name_f] [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] Hagedorn has a beautiful flow, & [name_f]Luella[/name_f] is spunky & unexpected.
A few other girl ideas that you may like:
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_f]Azalea[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]-this has too many 'n’s too, but it’s not the end of the world. Such a sweet name.
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Tallula[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_u]Vida[/name_u]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Zella[/name_f]
If the little one is a boy, [name_u]Cade[/name_u] is nice. It’s kind of cool surfer dude sounding, which I like.
A few other ideas in similar vain as [name_u]Cade[/name_u]:
[name_u]Blaise[/name_u]-this doesn’t go great w/[name_m]Basil[/name_m] though…
Thank you [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] M! I really am leaning towards [name_f]Luella[/name_f] (which was actually my Grandmother’s Mother’s name), and calling her “[name_f]Ella[/name_f]” for short. I like [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] too (which is my Aunt’s name) and call her [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], but [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] just sounds so cute
As for boys, I should have mentioned too that [name_u]Cade[/name_u] is a family name on my Grandmother’s side also. I’m wanting to look into her family history a bit and see if I can find any more interesting names on that side, but I also like your suggestions! Thanks for taking time to reply!
