I have two boys named [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Owen[/name]. Their names were super easy for us and we didn’t expect to be expecting a girl–we’re stumped. [name]Don[/name]'t like too frilly, stuffy, cutesy, super common OR super out-there. Here are the names I like, but for one reason or another just don’t seem to fit. Looking for suggestions other than these, but also commentary on this list is great. No clue at all about middle names (used family names for the boys and won’t be this time) but I feel like the first name is way more important. Thanks!!
[name]Zoe[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] or [name]Cecelia[/name] (nn [name]CeCe[/name])
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name] (this is hubby’s choice)
[name]Owen[/name] is our top name for another boy, and [name]Wyatt[/name] is right behind it. Needless to say, I love your choices. All of the names you listed for a girl are lovely, too.
Since [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Owen[/name] both contain a w, you could go with:
[name]Gwyneth[/name]
[name]Gwen[/name]
[name]Gwendolyn[/name]/[name]Gwendolen[/name]
[name]Jewel[/name]
[name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Owen[/name] work so well together; they even both have W’s in their names. [name]Both[/name] even have strong, warrior meanings, and I think keeping up the short names with strong meanings flow is important.
[name]Zoe[/name] has the short thing down, and so does [name]Lucy[/name], and they sound good with [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Owen[/name], as they all have two syllables with nice, flowing vowels. [name]Cecily[/name]/[name]Cecelia[/name] and [name]Fiona[/name] seem out of place with [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Owen[/name]. [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Owen[/name] are also boy-next-door kind of names; they’re humble and friendly. [name]Fiona[/name] and [name]Cecelia[/name], again, don’t fit with that at all.
Some short, 2 syllable, vowel heavy names I think go good with [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Owen[/name] are:
[name]Quinn[/name] - I think it’s the best one
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Riley[/name]
[name]Lyla[/name]
[name]Margo[/name]
[name]Mia[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] - 2nd best
[name]Ella[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
Wow, you totally NAILED it. All of it. [name]How[/name] my boys’ names feel/sound and their personalities. [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name], I agree, go with the boys whereas the other two don’t really. And I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Quinn[/name]. My problem is that our last name has an “n” sound in the middle and it feels a little jumbled rolling off the tongue. Though it doesn’t with [name]Owen[/name]…strange. Maybe I’ll walk around saying it a bunch and see what happens. Some of the others you suggested we either know someone with that name (or are in our family), boo. Thank you!!!
Aw! Well I’m glad I could help. I kind of feel like a diva that I nailed it, now. Haha! But yes, it’s very important that the name you pick works well if the last name. Saying it enough times would really help you decide whether its the name for your girl or not.
Does your last name actually start with an N (or a Kn)? Because then I don’t think [name]Quinn[/name] would go very well. Instead of [name]Quinn[/name] [name]Nelson[/name], it would sound like Quinnelson.
Well a friend just told me about this site tonight and this was my first post, obviously, so I when I read your response I was like wow, these women are geniuses! LOL. No it doesn’t start with N, there’s an N in the middle (at the end of the first syllable–there are 2 syllables total).
