Well since I was last here we have found out we’re having a girl. Which is fab, only, we hardly have any girl names that we agree on. We both would like a name that’s kind of spunky and cool. The kind of girl that would prefer to have pirates and robots on her wall than flowers and fairies. We like unisex names, we’re certainly not looking to name her anything too delicate. Top of the list so far is [name]Hadley[/name], we both like this but my partner is insisting on having a list just incase she doesn’t “look like a [name]Hadley[/name]”. We do also quite like [name]Pandora[/name] but I worry it’s a bit fancy and fussy really. Our top boy’s name was [name]Ridley[/name].
We have been though the two name books we have at home cover to cover and we’re still not seeing anything else jump out at us.
Any suggestions at all would be most welcome.
Her last name will be [name]Street[/name] if that is of any help.
I like [name]Hadley[/name] even though it is considered “trendy”. And I agree with you about [name]Pandora[/name], it does sound kinda pretentious.
Names that I think are spunky and a little tomboyish:
[name]Lyra[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] ( the one [name]Ivy[/name] I know is a total spunky tomboy!)
[name]Waverly[/name]
[name]Arden[/name]
[name]Adair[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Briar[/name]
[name]Lark[/name]/ Larken
[name]January[/name]
[name]Liv[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name]
[name]Brynn[/name]
[name]Willow[/name]
[name]Blake[/name]
[name]Fallon[/name]
[name]Scout[/name]
[name]Kellan[/name]
[name]Poppy[/name]
[name]Holland[/name]
[name]Margot[/name]
[name]Tatum[/name]
[name]Bronwyn[/name]/[name]Bronwen[/name]
[name]Bronte[/name]
[name]Marlowe[/name]
[name]Annika[/name]
[name]Pippa[/name]
[name]Mabry[/name]
[name]Harlow[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Briony[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name]
I like [name]Tamsin[/name] or [name]Maren[/name] for you - [name]Hadley[/name] is really masculine and I think it sounds weird with your last name. [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Street[/name] sounds like an address…
[name]Just[/name] thought of two more. [name]Billie[/name] and [name]Bobbi[/name]. I think they’re super cute on girls, possibly as hyphenated names with [name]Jo[/name], [name]Jane[/name], or [name]Jean[/name].
Thank you for the suggestions everyone, I’ll sit and go through these with my OH tonight and see if we can agree on anything else.
flick - I agree, it does sound like an address but that does seem like an unfortunate downside of having “[name]Street[/name]” as a last name. The only way to avoid it is to go for something very normal as a first name, and neither of us really like normal names.
