Need help choosing a name!

I’m looking for a name for the main character of my current WIP. I have a couple of contenders, but I’m not sure if any of them is the one I’m definitely going to use:

[name_u]Billie[/name_u]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
[name_u]Lane[/name_u]

I’m looking for something short (two syllables max), and something striking. I want this name to instantly conjure up a picture of the character in someone’s mind, if that makes sense! I’m currently leaning towards [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], but I’m still not 100% about it.

The story primarily centers around mental health, as my MC struggles with anxiety. She is 17 years old, and is about to leave school for the first time, which causes a lot of internal conflict for her. She is very close with her family, but has trouble interacting with people she is not comfortable around. She is not always likeable, a trait that is really important to me when it comes to writing her. She finds it hard to leave her comfort zone, but is loyal, intelligent and a wonderful friend.

Of the three, I like [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the best for her. Based on the description you gave, it totally suits her. I honestly can’t think of a better name.

I think [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] makes the perfect name for her! I also think [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] would fit her- similar to [name_u]Lane[/name_u] on your list.

I personally really like [name_u]Lane[/name_u], but I will agree that [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] fits her best. Sorry if this makes it harder. Perhaps if she needed a middle name it could be [name_u]Lane[/name_u], with the first name being [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]?

I like -eagleeyes- suggestion of [name_f]Lainey[/name_f], and you could also spell it: Laynie, [name_u]Laney[/name_u], [name_m]Laynee[/name_m], and [name_u]Lanie[/name_u]. I also think that Laycee/[name_f]Lacey[/name_f] would fit her well.
