Need Help Deciding on Baby Girl #2 Name!!

My husband and i just found out we are having our second little girl. I am beyond excited!.. But, we are both so frustrated in settling on a name! I dont know why it is so hard this time around. My first daughters name is [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] [name_f]Ella[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f]. It fits her perfect.
Right now, these are the choices we have (but i am very open to any other suggestions.)

[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] (This one we like the most),
[name_u]Carter[/name_u]/[name_m]Karter[/name_m] (Second place!)
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u]
[name_u]Harlee[/name_u]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]

There are a few others we like, but those are the top of the list. We already know the middle name will be [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. We will possibly add another middle name to the mix, but its really not middle names i am concerned about at this point.

I am SOO picky with names! I like them to be unique yet familiar. I also love boy names for girls (BUT not [name_u]Billie[/name_u], jo, danni, ect.) Please be kind about my name choices, although i am willing to listen to honest opinions.

I have some ideas

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] (sounds great with [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] I think)
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]

I like [name_u]Carter[/name_u] for a girl but I’d go with a C instead of a K, I get the feminization thing but it gets a little confusing.
[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] is a beautiful name (not joking, it really is), but it is a lot more “out there” than [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m]. I don’t want to discourage you from using it, but that is a factor.
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u], [name_u]Harlee[/name_u], and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] are great in my book

None of these are really my tastes but I do see [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] and [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] working as a sibset and I think [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] together sound lovely.

Congrats! I think Phoneix would work best, given your first daughters name. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is ok. [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] was trendy for a while and feels dated to me. I dislike [name_u]Carter[/name_u] for a girl, I know boys with the name. And [name_m]Karter[/name_m]? It looks uneducated to me, like the butchering of [name_u]Harlee[/name_u]. I can’t imagine a grown up [name_u]Harlee[/name_u] walking in for an interview and being taken seriously. I like the middle of [name_f]Elise[/name_f].

Other possibilities…

  • [name_f]Jade[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
  • [name_u]Everly[/name_u]
  • [name_f]Annika[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Lola[/name_f]
  • [name_u]Sage[/name_u]

[name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] {and}

[name_u]Aspen[/name_u], [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], [name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u], {[name_u]Dakota[/name_u]}, {[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]}, [name_f]Savannah[/name_f], [name_u]Sierra[/name_u]

{“country and western” names}

[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] is definitely my favourite from the list, followed by [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] is spunky and lovely with [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m].

I struggle with [name_u]Carter[/name_u] on a girl, and not fan of [name_u]Harlee[/name_u] or [name_u]Dakota[/name_u].

[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] & [name_u]Harper[/name_u] have my vote. I think both sound lovely with [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] as a sibset. You seem to lean more towards the less frilly girl names so I would suggest:

[name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] & [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] – love that each would have the ‘y’ right in the middle there. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] also would be nice.
[name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] & [name_u]Everly[/name_u] – I’ll second that one.
[name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] & [name_f]Bryony[/name_f]
[name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] & [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f]
[name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] & [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] & [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] & [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]

And [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is such a good middle name in my opinion! It works so well with so many different names. I agree with the previous post about [name_u]Carter[/name_u], [name_u]Harlee[/name_u] and [name_u]Dakota[/name_u].

I think the name [name_u]Logan[/name_u] is sooo pretty for girls. I think it looks super cute next to [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m]!

Out of the names you listed, I like [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] with [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] the best. [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] is really cool but its a lot more flashy than [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m], you know? I almost feel like you need two middle names or a longer middle name with this little girl, since [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] has 2 middles.

[name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]

Possible middles with [name_f]Elise[/name_f]:
[name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]

I really like [name_m]Pheonix[/name_m] and [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] together. [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] sounds lovely.

Definitely loving [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] the most from your list!

[name_u]Harper[/name_u] or [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] would both work well, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not feeling the other choices…

[name_u]Harper[/name_u] would be my pick.

I personally think that [name_u]Carter[/name_u] is adorable on a girl! I also like [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] sounds lovely with [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m] [name_f]Ella[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f]. That has my vote!

[name_u]Harper[/name_u], then [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]. I also like the suggestions of [name_u]Logan[/name_u] and teagan/tegan .
My least favorites of your list would be [name_m]Karter[/name_m], followed by [name_u]Harlee[/name_u]. [name_u]Carter[/name_u] is better with the C, and [name_u]Harley[/name_u] is a better spelling too. What about [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]?

I think your first choice, [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], sounds the best. It goes really well with [name_m]Shyloh[/name_m], in my opinion. If you use [name_u]Carter[/name_u], I suggest sticking to a ‘C,’ as the K makes it look false.

I Agree with [name_u]Carter[/name_u] with a K does kind of look weird to me. I was definitely leaning towards using a C.
The reason i’d spell “[name_u]Harlee[/name_u]” like that is because my name is [name_f]Kimberlee[/name_f] & my moms name is [name_f]Cyndee[/name_f] so i wanted to carry on the double “E” ifi ended up possibly using a name ending in a “y”
I also love [name_u]Sage[/name_u] & [name_u]Everly[/name_u]!
