Below is the list of names both my husband and I mostly agree on. Need help either narrowing down, or finding similar names that we both like. Here’s the kicker, we live in a Spanish speaking country, but my husband is [name_m]French[/name_m] speaking, and I am English speaking so we need something somewhat pronounceable in all 3 languages. Tricky. (Middle name will either be [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_f]May[/name_f] for family members.)
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] (husband is not crazy about this one)
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]
Lissandra [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]
Maleya [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Melaina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] (or [name_f]Milena[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f])
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] (too “hipster” is what I keep reading on Nameberry about [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]…?)
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] (not loving this combination but [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] doesn’t work for me)
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] (husband is not crazy about this one)
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]
Lissandra [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]
Maleya [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] [name_f]Melaina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] (or [name_f]Milena[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f])
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] (too “hipster” is what I keep reading on Nameberry about [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]…?)
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] (not loving this combination but [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] doesn’t work for me)
I bolded the ones I like the best.
I do find [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] to be hipster, but I kind of like that.
Good luck!
I’ve always loved [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] is the best choice and works in any of those languages.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] are gorgeous! What’s so bad about being a hipster? Hipsters are always one-step ahead of the pack. Hipsters see trends before they begin and launch them on their own. It’s time to embrace your hipsterhood!!!
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] (I would choose [name_f]May[/name_f] as a middle name for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] but [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] is also nice. [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is an old-time classic and works well all over the world.)
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] (Short and beautiful!)
[name_f]Milena[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] (I love [name_f]Milena[/name_f]'s nickname options: [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f].)
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - would work in all three languages & is beautiful
[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] (husband is not crazy about this one) - not really a fan of [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] as the first name [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - beautiful, especially is spanish
Lissandra [name_f]May[/name_f] - nms
[name_f]Adelina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - nms
Maleya [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - nms
[name_f]Melaina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - if you don’t like the pronunciation of Me-lye-na (which could happen in spanish) I’d stay a way from it; also nms [name_f]Milena[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - much better
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - too hipster, definitely no BUT that’s my sisters name and spanish people tend to pronounce it Ma-teal-dah, which isn’t to pretty imo.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] (not loving this combination but [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] doesn’t work for me) - You might also get various pronunciations on this one
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is one of my favorite girls’ names, and [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] is beautiful! This or [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is my favorite.
Although I adore the name [name_f]May[/name_f], I would chose [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]. Or another combination: [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], it’s such a beautiful, classic name. You don’t really see too many little [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]'s either, at least not where I’m from.
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] is a beautiful name.
I love [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f], [name_f]Milena[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] (I don’t see a problem with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] being hipster and it’s great because if she’s girly she can have nn [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] and if she’s not then there’s [name_u]Mattie[/name_u])
Hmm…
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - I really love the name [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] (it’s my name) and I love being called this name. It’s an elegant classic, with a beautiful vibe and sounds very classy. I’m not really a fan of [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] I dislike most [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] names but I do understand that you want to use family names and I think that’s great.
[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] - As I stated above I’m not keen on [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] but love [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], I prefer the combination above.
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - I adore the name [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] she has a lovely fresh sound, feels very vibrant and looks effortless. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] has a great feel and I adore the whole [name_f]Princess[/name_f] look of this name. She has a great flow with [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] and the general combination feels very international.
Lissandra [name_f]May[/name_f] - I actually really like Lissandra it’s effortless and has a pretty sound. She feels intriguing and light I also like how she sounds paired with [name_f]May[/name_f]. The combination is refreshing.
[name_f]Adelina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - Again I love [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] she’s vibrant and feels effortless. I like how it works with [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]. [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] has a great European flair and feels really fresh.
Maleya [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - I dislike Maleya feels a little off key it’s not my style…
[name_f]Melaina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - I do like [name_f]Melaina[/name_f] but I dislike how the name works with [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Milena[/name_f] it just looks visually prettier and feels prettier. But again I dislike this name with [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f].
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] she has this majestic almost Nordic vibe - yes she is slightly ‘hipster’ - but yet again many names are, furthermore, [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is rather popular in the UK. I also know children who have names which are variants of [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] which as [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. So for me it doesn’t feel pretentious you know as so many children and people have this name in my country. Maybe in a [name_u]America[/name_u] (and elsewhere) it’s soooo hipster? But here it’s just not. The flow with [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] is ok though.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] - [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is a pretty name, she’s elegant and has a lovely sound. Despite having dodgy NHS advertising associations it’s really grown on me. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is pretty. I like how [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] sounds it’s sweet and elegant.
I agree w/ [name_u]Mischa[/name_u]. What’s wrong with being hipster?! I think the name [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is darling. I also love [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]. For what it’s worth, I had a [name_m]French[/name_m] teacher name [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f] and I always thought it was a beautiful name. [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] are also very nice.
I’m not a fan of Lissandra personally, but it made me think of the gorgeous name [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f].
Some other thoughts:
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]/[name_f]Carolina[/name_f]

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]. I love your choices, I just wanted to say something about [name_f]Milena[/name_f]. I have a horrible association and worry about this as a choice. It sounds very pretty but [name_f]Melena[/name_f]/ Malaena (both pronounced as [name_f]Milena[/name_f]) is a type of faeces that is black and tarry and caused by a bleed in the upper GI tract. It’s a medical term but a well known one that any doctor or nurse would know. Sorry if I’ve just spoiled the name for anyone, probably best to know though
