I am due in a few weeks, and my husband and I are struggling with names. We had the name [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Norman[/name_m] (both of which are family names) picked out, but had never completely committed to the name. I love the idea of using family names, but suddenly I am not sure if I like the name at all. We would most likely call him [name_m]Ben[/name_m] most of the time if we did go with this name. Other names we like include: [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]…I also like the names [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Victor[/name_m], but my husband is not sold on those. We would like to incorporate the name [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] into whatever we go with, and before getting pregnant we were so sure if we ever had a boy, his name would be [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Bennet[/name_m] (call him [name_m]Eli[/name_m]), but the name [name_m]Eli[/name_m] has blown up and become insanely popular. Anyone have any opinions or suggestions? Thanks!!!
I adore [name_m]Bennett[/name_m].
(This is just my personal feelings and opinions) Personally I would not use a nickname with [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. I would choose [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] and nickname him [name_m]Ben[/name_m], if the plan is to just call him [name_m]Ben[/name_m] all the time. [name_m]Ben[/name_m] is a bit dull next to [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] and changes the feel of the name quite a bit. [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] has a lighter feeling, less punch than [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], closer to the feeling of [name_m]Ben[/name_m]. I get a vintage, charm feeling with [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m] more even tempered, classic.
My favorite combo from the ones you listed is [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] would be very handsome. I also really like [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. Personally I have never known or met an [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] or [name_m]Eli[/name_m].
My favourite on your list is definitely [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], and like @lovemysweeties, I too prefer the full name. [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] is handsome and preppy sounding to me. If you are still looking for other possibilities, maybe…
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]/[name_m]Xander[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Lochlan[/name_m]
I love [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] I think it’s perfect! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t forget, just because [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] is popular on this site doesn’t mean it’s statistically popular! Check the social security website to ease your mind! I was in the same boat as you. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] has been my favorite name since I was 15 and I almost dropped it due to popularity and I’m so happy a berry talked me out of it. I have a sweet 1 1/2 year old [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] now and I love love her name.
I also love [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. [name_f]Remember[/name_f], just because his first name is [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], it doesn’t automatically make him an [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. I actually like and prefer [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] as is.
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] could be nicknamed [name_m]Ben[/name_m], [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_u]Brett[/name_u], etc. I love the combo [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. Here are some other ideas: ([name_m]Bennett[/name_m] could also be nicknamed [name_m]Brent[/name_m] or [name_m]Brant[/name_m] as well.)
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] or [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Malachi[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] or [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] or [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] or [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] … [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] … [name_m]Damian[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Grayson[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] … [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Grayson[/name_m]
I like the name [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] a lot. I’m all for using family names so [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Norman[/name_m] is my favorite. I was also unsure when choosing a name for my son. We went with family names and I love his name so much now. I knew my favorite name would change overtime but the significance a family name has won’t change.
Thank you everyone for all the input. I really appreciate it!!! I had no idea the name [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] was so widely liked, and it is my husband’s father’s name, so it is definitely has some meaning. We still haven’t decided for sure, but we have our list narrowed down and will probably wait until we meet our little man for the final decision. I do find that family and friends are putting so much pressure on me to choose right NOW, but I am okay with waiting until he is here. Anyone else have that issue? Also, I forgot to mention that he will be joining big sister [name_f]Emma[/name_f]!
Oh my - this has got to be the strangest coincidence! I came to this site as looking for a baby boy name and I am due in a few weeks! Our little boys middle name will be [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], in honour of our little boy that we lost to T18 - 8 years ago. I named him [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] as one of the meanings I found was “little blessed one” which was just perfect. Our list at the moment is [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], [name_u]Theo[/name_u] or [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] with a strong leaning to [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]. Seeing so many positive comments here on [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] is lovely
