We just found out today that we are having a little girl! We have a two year old boy named [name]Henry[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]. His is a family name on both sides and we love that it is classic, easy to spell and fits well with our last name (similar to [name]Grace[/name]). We want something we love equally for our little girl, but while we like a lot of names there is not one name jumping out of us. We would greatly appreciate some suggestions of names that fit well with [name]Henry[/name], are not in the top 50 in popularity and work well with our last name. Here are a few we like so you can get an idea of what we are thinking.
I love [name]Henry[/name], and I love your list! [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Margaret[/name], and [name]Cecily[/name] are all gorgeous. What about:
Of yours, I would totally go with [name]Annabel[/name]–I [name]LOVE[/name] it, but my fiance doesn’t, so it’s out for us. I would love to see it on another baby
[name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name] are two of my very favorite names and both work great with [name]Henry[/name]. You have excellent taste in names!
I vote for [name]Lydia[/name]! Other suggestions are [name]Charlotte[/name] or [name]Catherine[/name] to go with [name]Henry[/name].
A few days ago, my 11-year-old daughter, [name]Rebecca[/name], announced to me that she likes the name [name]Annabel[/name] for a future daughter, along with her previous choice [name]Julia[/name]. So, my daughter votes for [name]Annabel[/name], and adds the suggestion of [name]Julia[/name].
I love [name]Annabel[/name] its classic but not over used very pretty! I have a family member that named their first child [name]Henry[/name] and then had a girl and named her [name]Jane[/name]. I love this combo! So classic and very cute to yell out [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] together.
[name]Annabel[/name] would definitely be my choice, its such a great name with two possible nicknames (which are both beautiful!); personally, I would spell it [name]Annabelle[/name], but either way, I love it!
Out of your list I really like [name]Annabel[/name](I just love this spelling),[name]Lydia[/name](With Lidi as a nn),[name]Beatrix/name .I normally love [name]Penelope[/name],But it sounds a bit off with [name]Henry[/name],same with [name]Cecily[/name] and I’m just not a fan of [name]Margaret[/name],I do like [name]Marguerite[/name],though.Here are some that I like with [name]Henry[/name],sorry for any repeats.[name]Henry[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name],[name]Coralie[/name],[name]Iris[/name],[name]Cosette[/name],[name]Colette[/name],[name]Charlotte[/name],[name]Georgia[/name],[name]Giada[/name](I think this Really balances [name]Henry[/name] out),[name]Mabel[/name],[name]Evaine[/name],[name]Alice[/name]**,[name]Viola[/name],[name]Esme[/name],[name]Willa[/name],[name]Juliet[/name],[name]Gizelle[/name],[name]Sabine[/name],[name]Livia[/name],[name]Mia[/name],[name]Scarlett[/name]**,[name]Clementine[/name],[name]Lucia[/name],[name]Simone[/name],[name]Clara[/name] ,[name]Laura[/name]*,[name]Cosima[/name]**.The starred ones I like with [name]Henry[/name],The double stars I love with [name]Henry[/name]! Good [name]Luck[/name],[name]Isabel[/name]
Wow–thanks everyone! I showed my husband some of your suggestions and he likes [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Georgia[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name]. Out of those, I like all but [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name]. He also has decided he does not like [name]Beatrix[/name], so that’s off our list.
I have a question on [name]Eleanor[/name]. It’s not super popular, but I feel like I know loads of little Ellas and Ellies. We could always use [name]Norah[/name] as a nn sometimes, but if we wanted to stick with the full name of [name]Eleanor[/name], do you think she’d get lost in a sea of “[name]El[/name]” names?
Also, do you think if we chose [name]Eliza[/name], we should use the whole name [name]Elizabeth[/name] and the nn [name]Eliza[/name]? I think no, but I’d love to here your opinions.
[name]Evelynn[/name],
[name]Cressa[/name],
Lanora,
[name]Lynn[/name],
[name]Rosemary[/name], (Personly I Like this one.)
[name]Sarah[/name],
[name]Marie[/name],
[name]Katlynn[/name],
I’m so glad he liked [name]Georgia[/name]!
I love [name]Elinor[/name](spelled this way, because I think it ages better)It has two great nn([name]Elli[/name] or [name]Norah[/name])And If she wants to go to [name]Harvard[/name] she has a great, respectable first name to use for Buisness.
[name]Eliza[/name] is pretty much perfection just by itself!it also has great nn!([name]Elli[/name],[name]Liza[/name] and it’s offshoots,And my new favorite,[name]Zizi[/name]!)
Wow. I love every name on your list, it’s very hard to pick!
[name]Annabel[/name]: I absolutely love this name, especially with this spelling. It will keep getting popular (more so with the [name]Annabelle[/name] spelling) but I just love it. [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Henry[/name]? Perfection.
[name]Lydia[/name]: [name]Love[/name], love, love [name]Lydia[/name] as well! I can’t figure out why more people don’t use [name]Lydia[/name]. Classic, feminine, cute as a little girl, elegant as a woman.
[name]Margaret[/name] (nn [name]Daisy[/name]): Also cute! Especially love the nn [name]Daisy[/name], it adds a little something to the more stoic [name]Margaret[/name].
[name]Cecily[/name]: Another underused gem.
[name]Penelope[/name]: I really like [name]Penelope[/name], but I think I like some of your other choices more.
Also [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] with [name]Henry[/name] (she can definitely stand on her own if you don’t want to go with [name]Elizabeth[/name]).
I’m not going to add any suggestions, as I love your list and so many great suggestions have already been made. My top picks would be [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Eliza[/name], or [name]Annabel[/name] with [name]Henry[/name]. But really, you can’t go wrong with any of the names on your list.
I like [name]Eleanor[/name] with [name]Henry[/name] … for some reason it is pleasing to look at … both have a “n”, an “e”, and a “r”. I don’t think people would call her [name]Ellie[/name] unless you did. I also think that [name]Eleanor[/name] is a strong, classic name that doesn’t need a nickname. If you use the nickname [name]Nora/name, I personally love [name]Eleanora[/name] because it becomes more sweet and feminine for me. Not sure how you would spell it, but you could also use “[name]Norie[/name]” as a nn (rhymes with [name]Rory[/name]).
I prefer [name]Eliza[/name] over [name]Eleanor[/name] personally, but I think they both go great with [name]Henry[/name]. I love both [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] equally, but I think only going with [name]Eliza[/name] has a bit more spunk. Plus, I like that [name]Henry[/name] has five letters and so does [name]Eliza[/name]. Feels balanced to me.
You have a lot of great choices … you’ll end up with a great name no matter which you pick!! Congratulations!!
