Need help naming our twins!

We’ve decided to be surprised instead of finding out the sex of our babies so we’re trying to come up with two girls names and two boys names to cover our bases.

The two names we fully agree on are [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]. [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] are family namesakes.

My style is recognizable but not often heard, not easily mispronounced (my husband has an often mispronounced name and it doesn’t bother him but it makes me crazy) and ideally outside of the top 200. I had to be talked into [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] because I thought it might be too common but my husband really loved it and honestly so do I.

Names I like but my husband doesn’t like:

  • Valencia
  • Geneva
  • Irene
  • Zinnia
  • Orlando (heartbroken over this one)

Names he likes but I don’t like:

  • Persephone
  • Ursula (I actually like this one and it’s a family name but I can’t get over the pop culture connotations)
  • Seneca
  • Valentine
  • Orson

Names we wouldn’t use:
Names that sound like last names [name_u]Archer[/name_u], [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], [name_u]Anderson[/name_u], [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u], [name_u]Jackson[/name_u], [name_u]Carter[/name_u], etc.
Other names I have X-ed on NameBerry are [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], [name_m]Graham[/name_m], and [name_m]Xander[/name_m]. No hate if you love these names. They’re just not my style.

Also prefer to not have matching initials or anything that feels overly matchy in general. We’re struggling particularly to find boy names we like. Thank you in advance for your help, name experts!

You’ve had loads of suggestions so count any repeats as seconds :blush:

If I was to have twins I always thought a sweet way to tie them together would be initial reversal so if one twins initials were VE to do EV if that makes sense. So I’m going to suggest some names with this theme

Thank you for all of the beautiful and thoughtful suggestions! I’m going to discuss them with my husband after work but my favorites so far are [name_f]Selma[/name_f] (new fav!), [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m], [name_f]Ursa[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f], though I see my husband vetoing that one.

Edit: Hubby called from his commute and vetoed Selma because Daphne and Selma sounds too close to Daphne and Velma. I’ll try with the others later!
