My DH is a middle school teacher. Which means he is incredibly picky, especially when it comes to boys’ names. With our son, we went into the delivery room with a list of 12 boys’ names, most of which I did not love, and came out with [name]Wyatt[/name] [name]Steven[/name], which I’m actually very happy with. (I don’t recommend naming while on narcotics after a C section though!)
Can you help us come up with some more boy name options? Middle name is either [name]William[/name] or [name]Perry[/name], after a family member. Can’t start with W or end in -er sound (to avoid rhyming with last name). We like familiar names, although I’d like to steer clear of top 10 if possible. I think my style is kind of Old [name]West[/name]. I can’t identify DH’s style, other than it can’t be a name he associates with a troublemaker. DH absolutely loves [name]Brody[/name] but I can’t get past the Hills association.
What about [name]Braden[/name] [name]Perry[/name]? Or are you not into the ayden ending names?
Or what about going [name]Perry[/name] [name]William[/name] style? I like [name]Perry[/name] as a first name.
Other ideas…
[name]Lucas[/name] [name]William[/name] (love [name]Lucas[/name] and [name]Wyatt[/name] as brothers)
[name]Timothy[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Koda[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Jamieson[/name] [name]Perry[/name]
[name]Remy[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Abraham[/name] [name]Perry[/name]
[name]Cooper[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Garrett[/name] [name]William[/name] (if you want to go double t ending for both boys)
[name]Travis[/name] [name]Perry[/name]
[name]Jesse[/name] [name]William[/name]
Funny that you like [name]Perry[/name] [name]William[/name] because that was my grandfather’s name, so the middle name would be in honor of him!
Also love love love [name]Lucas[/name] (but it has already been vetoed by DH). I like [name]Garrett[/name] and [name]Travis[/name]. I will suggest them to him! [name]Cooper[/name] was on our short list at one point but got taken off because of the rhyming with our last name. No, not really into the aydens. They seem even more popular in our area than they are elsewhere in the US!
I love [name]Perry[/name] as a first name, actually - and I thought of [name]Owen[/name] for you. Maybe [name]Perry[/name] [name]Owen[/name], or [name]Owen[/name] [name]Perry[/name]?
What about [name]Rance[/name]? We have a [name]Rance[/name] in our family. [name]Both[/name] [name]Rance[/name] [name]Perry[/name] & [name]Rance[/name] [name]William[/name] sound good together!
[name]Grady[/name] is a good name too!! [name]Grady[/name] [name]William[/name]?
Also thought about [name]Asher[/name] [name]Perry[/name] or [name]Asher[/name] [name]William[/name]. [name]Landon[/name] [name]Perry[/name] or Brentley [name]William[/name]…?
[name]Caleb[/name] [name]William[/name] (can you do a NN of [name]Cal[/name] with this?)
[name]Nolan[/name] [name]Perry[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name] [name]Perry[/name] (what NN–[name]Andy[/name] or [name]Drew[/name]?)
[name]Ethan[/name] [name]William[/name] (though initials would be EWW…)
[name]Bryce[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Grant[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Colton[/name] [name]Perry[/name]
[name]Jackson[/name] [name]Perry[/name] (can only use if [name]BIL[/name] and [name]SIL[/name] don’t have a boy because they’ve claimed [name]Jack[/name])
[name]Chase[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Owen[/name] [name]Perry[/name]
[name]Clay[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name], [name]Chase[/name] and [name]Bryce[/name] were all on our 12-name list the first time. Any favorites?
I love [name]Caleb[/name]! It is my favorite boy name. I think [name]Cal[/name] or [name]Cale[/name] would work as nns. [name]Andrew[/name] isn’t my style, but I would definitely choose [name]Andy[/name] over [name]Drew[/name]. I think initials EW or EWW should be avoided if possible. Maybe not a deal breaker if you love the name, but I personally wouldn’t choose it. I also really like [name]Bryce[/name] and [name]Clay[/name]. [name]Perry[/name] works fine as a mn for [name]Caleb[/name], [name]Bryce[/name], and [name]Clay[/name] if you were wanting to use it.
Sigh, this is what I mean. I read DH my shortlist and this is what I got.
[name]Caleb[/name] [name]William[/name]- Eh
[name]Nolan[/name] [name]Perry[/name]- No
[name]Andrew[/name] [name]Perry[/name]- Eh
[name]Ethan[/name] [name]William[/name]- NO [name]WAY[/name]!
[name]Bryce[/name] [name]William[/name]- Eh
[name]Grant[/name] [name]William[/name]- Nope
[name]Colton[/name] [name]Perry[/name]- Nope
[name]Jackson[/name] [name]Perry[/name]- Eh
[name]Chase[/name] [name]William[/name]- No
[name]Owen[/name] [name]Perry[/name]- No
[name]Clay[/name] [name]William[/name]- Oh, I like that one
I fear we may go through the same thing as last time if we have another boy.
Another thought I had, and I’m not sure how he’ll feel about this, is to go with [name]William[/name] [name]Perry[/name] (reverse of my grandfather’s name) and call him [name]Liam[/name] (or maybe just [name]Liam[/name] [name]Perry[/name].) The NN [name]Will[/name] doesn’t go with our last name very well.
[name]Clay[/name] [name]William[/name] is nice. I really like [name]Clay[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Perry[/name] if you and your DH are ok with two middles.
