  • [name_m]Ransom[/name_m]
  • [name_u]Avery[/name_u]
  • [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]

First or middle name will be [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] but will go by name above.

Thanks for any help

Not in any particular order.

  1. [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]
  2. [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
  3. [name_m]Knox[/name_m]
  4. [name_m]Preston[/name_m]
  5. [name_m]Maverick[/name_m]

I also like [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] & [name_m]Karter[/name_m] (prefer [name_u]Carter[/name_u] though).

I dislike:
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] - prefer for a girl
[name_m]Ransom[/name_m] – just seems like such a negative word
Lot – I think of a parking lot
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] – just not a fan
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] – too biblical for my tastes, although I do like [name_m]Elijah[/name_m].

I prefer [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] as MN than a FN but it fits as either.

[name_m]Preston[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Forrest[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]

I have closer to a top 10 but will narrow it down to a top 5.

[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Pierce[/name_m] - although I prefer the softer sound of [name_m]Piers[/name_m]
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]

[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] - adore, is my top GP name

My least favorite are -

[name_m]Quade[/name_m]
[name_m]Knox[/name_m] - personally would only use as a middle name
Lot
[name_m]Ransom[/name_m]

I love [name_u]Carter[/name_u] but not the spelling [name_m]Karter[/name_m].

In no particular order:

[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u]
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
Lot

  1. [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]
  2. [name_m]Quade[/name_m]
  3. [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
  4. [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
  5. [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]
    -[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
    -[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
    -[name_m]Knox[/name_m]
    -[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]

My top 5:

  1. [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]
  2. [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]
  3. [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] (glad to see you’re considering it for a boy)
  4. [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
  5. [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]

It seems like most of the combos sound better with [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] in the first name spot.

  • [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] - it’s ok but a bit trendy
  • [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] - just ok
  • [name_m]Karter[/name_m] - prefer it with a C, nice name
  • [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] - nice name too
  • [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] - just ok, reminds me of [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] Gump
  • [name_m]Quade[/name_m] - a nice name, reminds me of [name_m]Dennis[/name_m] [name_m]Quade[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Knox[/name_m] - like this one too (would use [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Knox[/name_m])
  • Lot - NO
  • [name_m]Preston[/name_m] - nah
  • [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] - ok name, a bit trendy, can’t get over the fact that it sounds like Bucket
  • [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] - ok
  • [name_m]Madden[/name_m] - no
  • [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] - nooo
  • [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] - ok

In no particular order:

  • [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]
  • [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
  • [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]

I’m not a huge fan of [name_m]Karter[/name_m] or Lot.

Congrats to you and welcome to Nameberry! It’s always good to hear from a male [name_u]Berry[/name_u].

These are my top three choices. All are names of historic depth and distinctive character.

1 -[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
2 -[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]
3 -[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]

These names are ok.

  • [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Avery[/name_u]
  • [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]
  • [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]

I woudn’t choose these names for firsts but they’re ok in the middle spot (or a second mn with [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]).

  • [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Forrest[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Quade[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Preston[/name_m]

I dislike…

  • [name_m]Madden[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Karter[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Knox[/name_m] (school of hard knocks?)
  • [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
  • Lot (I know the Biblical story but this just reminds me of a parking lot)
  • [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] (too harsh)

I find these word names hard to take seriously. I categorize them as “trying too hard”.

  • [name_m]Maverick[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Ransom[/name_m]

Top 5 (random order)

  • [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Forrest[/name_m]
  • [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
  • [name_m]Archer[/name_m]

I like your style and I think that [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is a classic that will fit well with any of these names! Good luck!

Thanks for all the insight so far…

Some names are a bit of a stretch but we kind of liked them and wanted the outside world other than immediate family that says yes to everything… My personal top 5 are

  • [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Archer[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
  • [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Madden[/name_m]

& my 5th we would use my Grandpa’s name and it would be [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] [name_m]Quade[/name_m]

Maybe thru some of my names you can figure out our style a little bit and maybe there are some other names that we overlooked that would go good with [name_m]Joseph[/name_m].

And thanks to the ones who have welcomed me aboard, this is our first child and we are beyond happy after years of trying.

I really like [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] [name_m]Quade[/name_m]!

I’m giving you my top 7, because I really like all of these names:

-[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
-[name_m]Wilder[/name_m]
-[name_u]Avery[/name_u]
-[name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
-[name_m]Knox[/name_m]
-[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
-[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]

I think [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] would be a cool mix of edgy and traditional. Very handsome.

My top 5:

[name_m]Archer[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] (love this spelling of [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] for a boy!)
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] (I really love the nn [name_m]Baz[/name_m])

And I kind of love [name_m]Madden[/name_m] but also worry because it can be used as a negative verb (“to madden”, “maddening”, etc).

And I would put [name_u]Carter[/name_u]-with-a-C [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] on that list if it’s an option - it’s one of the surname names that I’ve really grown to like, but the K spelling looks misspelled because cart and carton and carter are words while kart and karton and karter are not.

And I just saw your more recent post, and I freaking [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] as a first name. [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] [name_m]Quade[/name_m], [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] [name_m]Madden[/name_m]… love it.

The ones I really dislike (if you’re not interested, feel free to stop reading):

[name_m]Ransom[/name_m] (sounds like part of a kidnapping)
Lot (I assume you’re going for the biblical name but it’s used to much as a word that I wouldn’t touch it as a name)
[name_m]Maverick[/name_m] (I think it would look really weird on a really shy, quiet, obedient kid, which you may end up with here)
