Need Help On This Girl Name!!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,

I recently began to really like the name [name_f]Kimora[/name_f]. [name_f]Kimora[/name_f] means brave and noble. However, I really dislike the nickname ‘[name_u]Kim[/name_u]’.

What are your honest opinions on the name? What Middle Names do you suggest?

So far I’ve only come up with [name_f]Kimora[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

Thanks!!

I don’t mind [name_f]Kimora[/name_f]. The only nickname I can think of is [name_f]Mora[/name_f] but [name_u]Kim[/name_u] is so clear I’d recommend against it if you really don’t like it.

Suggestions -

[name_f]Kiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Keira[/name_f]
[name_f]Kia[/name_f]
[name_f]Kiara[/name_f]
[name_f]Kayla[/name_f]
[name_f]Kacia[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Kimora[/name_f], call her [name_f]Kiki[/name_f] as a nickname instead. It’ll catch on.

[name_f]Kimora[/name_f] is really pretty! Honestly I think [name_u]Kim[/name_u] is an avoidable enough nickname if you consistently call her by her full name. If people are really looking for a nickname pushing [name_f]Mora[/name_f] shouldn’t be difficult.

As a kid you could be adamant that she’s called the full [name_f]Kimora[/name_f], but know that once she’s old enough to have a real opinion on it, she may want her friends and other to just call her [name_u]Kim[/name_u].

If you can’t stand it, maybe choose another full name.

Does it mean brave and noble? I’m Googling and it looks like it’s a made-up name belonging to an American model according to the more credible websites. There’s a Japanese surname, Kimura, it might be based on, but I would seriously look into this deeper if the meaning of the name is important to you. A lot of baby name websites have false meanings for made up names.

I don’t love it. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it’s not made-up, it LOOKS like it is.

If you like the [name_u]Kim[/name_u]-sound or a Japanese sound, what about [name_f]Kimiko[/name_f]? That also provides nicknames like [name_f]Miko[/name_f] if you don’t like “[name_u]Kim[/name_u].”

[name_f]Kimora[/name_f] is a nice name, and [name_f]Kiki[/name_f] as a nn is adorable. I agree that you wouldn’t want [name_u]Kim[/name_u], but I think [name_f]Kimora[/name_f] is unique enough that most people don’t associate it with the nn [name_u]Kim[/name_u], as they do with [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u].
