Need help to pick her name

This is my first pregnancy, expecting a baby girl, and I’m finding it so hard to get the perfect name. We are looking for a name that either doesn’t need a nickname or has a cute girlie one. There are two boys already in the family so we want something feminine, nothing unisex, so there is no question as to her gender. She is due in [name]May[/name] so we’ve been trying to think of [name]Spring[/name] names that are light and unique; however we also like nature names, colour names, animal and bird names, jewel names, French names, elegant names etc. We live in a bilingual (Eng/French) city so we would like to have her name be easily pronounceable between both languages.

My fiancé and I have thought of these but are not sold on any particular one:

[name]Charlotte[/name] (he really likes this but is it too popular? I don’t like the nicknames [name]Char[/name] or [name]Lottie[/name], and definitely not [name]Charlie[/name])
[name]Coral[/name] (I love the colour and we both like the sea reference, but is it ok for a name?)
[name]Brielle[/name] (does this sound too… pop singer-ish?)
[name]Breanna[/name] (we both like the nickname [name]Bre[/name], but wondering if the ending “anna” is overused… not liking [name]Breanne[/name] as much)
[name]Avani[/name] (Ay-vah-nee, I like the nickname [name]Ava[/name] but is it too plain?)

Any comments about these names (good or bad) or any other name suggestions are very welcome!!

As a [name]Brianne[/name] myself… I am biased towards my name. I love that my name is unique and have received lots of compliments. My other favorite is [name]Charlotte[/name].

I know a [name]Coral[/name], so I like that name, and I don’t think it’s too out there (but then again, I see it as a name now more than a word).
I like [name]Brielle[/name] because it’s different but not weird.
I know SO many [name]Breanna[/name], [name]Brianne[/name]'s etc etc how ever you want to spell it…but it is a pretty name.
I really like [name]Avani[/name].

If you like French names and like [name]Coral[/name] but are unsure about using it as a name, what about [name]Coralie[/name]? It’s French and means coral. It also gives off a springtime vibe to me. As far as your other names, I love [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Avani[/name] is very pretty, I’ve actually never heard that one before!

Congrats on your pregnancy!

[name]Charlotte[/name] - a ladylike and elegant classic. It’s popular but I don’t think you should worry about it if you love it. It’s not on the same level as [name]Sophia[/name] or [name]Isabella[/name].

[name]Coral[/name] - Ok but I prefer [name]Coraline[/name] and [name]Coralie[/name] and I think these two names would work better in an Anglo-French community.

[name]Brielle[/name] - Very trendy along with sisters [name]Briella[/name], [name]Bella[/name] and [name]Ella[/name]. [name]One[/name] of the highest rising names which is always a red flag!

[name]Breanna[/name] - This is more of a modern invention name for me and is usually spelled [name]Brianna[/name].

[name]Avani[/name] - I’ve heard of [name]Imani[/name] and [name]Amani[/name] but not this name. It does sound similar to a brand name (eg. [name]Armani[/name]). Not a fan.

[name]Charlotte[/name] - very pretty and feminine, though [name]Charlie[/name] is a very popular nn, what about [name]Clara[/name] or [name]Chloe[/name]?
[name]Coral[/name] - I think this is a beautiful name! If it doesn’t feel substantial enough for you what about [name]Coralie[/name] or [name]Coraline[/name]?
[name]Brielle[/name] - it is a bit on the trendy side, but not too bad imo. [name]Briella[/name]?
[name]Breanna[/name] - what about [name]Bryony[/name] or [name]Briony[/name]? Or even [name]Brigitta[/name]? too weird? [name]Breanna[/name] just feels a tad dated to me, since those I know are all in their 20’s. It’s a nice enough name, but between the last two I’d prefer [name]Brielle[/name].
[name]Avani[/name] - never heard of this one before, it’s interesting, a nice sound and a nice nn. I don’t really love or hate it.

[name]Charlotte[/name] (he really likes this but is it too popular? I don’t like the nicknames [name]Char[/name] or [name]Lottie[/name], and definitely not [name]Charlie[/name])-it’s a classic. It is quite popular right now, but I love it nevertheless. [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Lottie[/name]!
[name]Coral[/name] (I love the colour and we both like the sea reference, but is it ok for a name?) - I would prefer [name]Cora[/name] over [name]Coral[/name]. My 2nd choice would be [name]Coralie[/name]. [name]Coral[/name] is ok too, but it makes me think of coral reefs and scuba diving.
[name]Brielle[/name] (does this sound too… pop singer-ish?)-It does have a pop-singerish vibe, but the “elle” grounds it a bit. I definitely prefer it over [name]Brianna[/name], but it’s not a favorite of mine in comparison to your other choices.
[name]Breanna[/name] (we both like the nickname [name]Bre[/name], but wondering if the ending “anna” is overused… not liking [name]Breanne[/name] as much)-reminds me too much of [name]Brianna[/name]. I just can’t seem to get on board with [name]Bri[/name] names.
[name]Avani[/name] (Ay-vah-nee, I like the nickname [name]Ava[/name] but is it too plain?)-I think it’s nice, but I also think people won’t always pronounce it the way you want them to. I can see some people saying Uh-va-nee, others Eh-va-nee and the rest will say the way you want them to. As someone with a name like that, I will tell you - it does get annoying. If you really like it, it’s a good name for a mn spot. [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Avani[/name], [name]Coral[/name] [name]Avani[/name], [name]Brielle[/name] [name]Avani[/name], [name]Breanna[/name] [name]Avani[/name]. They all sound nice with [name]Avani[/name].

Out of your choices I really like [name]Brielle[/name] and [name]Breanna[/name]. I do agree with Katylou and [name]Mischa[/name]. If you like and want a French name usuable in both languages you might like a real French name. And [name]Coralie[/name] is quite charming and popular in [name]France[/name] (at least when I was living there about 2 years ago).

Thought of a few more:

[name]Vivienne[/name]- means “life,” a very springy meaning. Also, it’s French.
[name]Esmeralda[/name]- since your little one is due in [name]May[/name] and you mentioned you like jewel names…it means "emerald’ which is [name]May[/name]'s birthstone
[name]Calla[/name]- means “beautiful,” and makes me think of [name]Calla[/name] Lillies so gives off a springtime vibe
[name]Cordelia[/name]- means “daughter of the sea,” and you mentioned you like [name]Coral[/name] for the sea reference.

Thank you for your comment  I do like [name]Coralie[/name] but we’re both thinking she’d end up getting [name]Cora[/name] as her nickname - it’s ok but neither of us likes it due to a popular restaurant in the area called “[name]Cora[/name]'s”

I love [name]Coral[/name]. The rest of your names are nms to varying degrees.

I love [name]Coral[/name], the others aren’t my style.
