Need help with a girl's middle name

We are thinking of naming our little bundle [name]Gemma[/name] (she is due in [name]May[/name]). Our last name is Goldman. I’m stuck, however, on a middle name and would love some suggestions. I was thinking of “[name]Grace[/name]” and using the nickname “[name]Gigi[/name]” as all her initials would be G’s. [name]Grace[/name] is so popular, however. “[name]Rose[/name]” is lovely, but again, a little too popular for my taste. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!!

[name]Gemma[/name] is a great choice. I won’t use another G name as a middle name - as she’s already a GG then you don’t need another G to get the [name]Gigi[/name] nickname. [name]Both[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Rose[/name] are well-used middle names, and before settling on either, I would look at some of the more unusual alternatives.

If you want a 1 syllable middle name:
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Blanche[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Brooke[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Fern[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Niamh[/name] (neev)
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]

You could also use a longer form of [name]Rose[/name] eg [name]Rosemary[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Rosamund[/name] or [name]Rosalind[/name].

Some other middle names:
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Isabel[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Natalie[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]

[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Claire[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Louise[/name], I like [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Fern[/name], too. [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Paige[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Avalon[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Lillias[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] (maybe too many “m” sounds), [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Eve[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Vivian[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Faith[/name] ( I love that name!), [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Iris[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Delphina[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Valentine[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Cameron[/name].
Now that I look at unoriginal’s choices (I do find them very original and good!), I see that I have repeated many of her choices. I also love [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Cordelia[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], and [name]Brooke[/name], especially. [name]Penelope[/name] is one of my faves. I just thought of [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Cathleen[/name]. “C” is softer to me than “K” and goes nicely with “G” in your first and last names. Also “C” is rounded like a circle and so visually I like it with the “Gs”. Yes, I know that I am obsessed! I love words and letters so much.

I love [name]Niamh[/name] – I never would have thought of that! Thank you! That is going on my short list! I would welcome more suggestions from all of you, as I’m a newbie and love reading everyone’s posts and replies.

I really like [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] as well – That is another good one! Thank you!

[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Niamh[/name]- Perfect! Since the middle name is a place to go wilder, the spelling of [name]Niamh[/name] is great! I love Gaelic names because you spell them one way and say them another.
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Margo/name and
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Rochelle[/name]
are my suggestions. Good luck!

This is too funny. I looooooove the name [name]Gemma[/name] and our last name is Garman, so I will be in the same position (although this is my second choice for a girl name). I am Irish, so I like the middle names Kaileen, [name]Clare[/name], and [name]Rhiannon[/name]. Good luck!

I love [name]Gemma[/name]. The other’s suggestions of [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] are very pretty. What about: [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Bliss[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Cady[/name] or [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Lenore[/name]?

ooh, I second [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Bliss[/name]… that combo has actually been on my list for a while!

[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Kate[/name]/[name]Cate[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]April[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Lauren[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Nicole[/name]

I really like [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Catherine[/name].

I LOOOVE [name]Gemma[/name], big ol’ grinch dh vetoed it on me! UGH!!!
I wanted [name]GEMMA[/name] [name]BLAIR[/name]… Which he even admitted he liked “but…mmm… no” :stuck_out_tongue:

I did have some alternatives I liked, but I’m not sure they’d be your style… or anyone elses for that matter, lol. Here they are…

[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Xanthe[/name] (zan-THEE)
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Sloane[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Estelle[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Laine[/name] (or Laen or something along those lines)
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Leilani[/name] (lay-[name]LAW[/name]-nee; Hawiian ‘heavenly flower’)
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Shavonne[/name] (or [name]Siobhan[/name])
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Harlow[/name] (for the record, I dropped [name]Harlow[/name] down to mn status when ‘what’s her name’ named her dd [name]Harlow[/name]. I was a apprehensive as I thought it might become ‘trendy’ rather than my first impression ‘silver screeny’ lol, preggo brain, don’t have much vocab left, LOL!!!)

Ohhhhh, I like [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Siobhan[/name]. I’m Irish too so that is a great choice!

I think [name]Gemma[/name] could sound nice with a single or triple syllable middle name:

[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Paige[/name] Goldman
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Lane[/name] Goldman
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] Goldman
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Mae[/name] Goldman
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Augusta[/name] Goldman
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Ziporah[/name] Goldman
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] Goldman
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Lavender[/name] Goldman

[name]Add[/name] me to the list of “multiple syllable middles” with [name]Gemma[/name].
Some random thoughts:
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Valentine[/name]/[name]Valentina[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] (gets you your [name]Gigi[/name] without being ‘fillery’)
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Coraline[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Lillian[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Calliope[/name] (I just love the galloping sound of [name]Calliope[/name]!)
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Adeline[/name]

HTH, a bit! Good [name]Luck[/name]!
