[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Clea[/name_f]’ is lovely - a great sounding/looking combo. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] (and [name_f]Clea[/name_f]) go very well with [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is a gorgeous name, the namesake of your grandmother adding to its specialness.

I’m not a big fan of [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] but i love the way [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] sounds. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite first name listed is [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. I also love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] as a first name.

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is gorgeous.

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is my favorite. Those are my top two names at the moment. It’s a mouthful but the middle name will rarely come up.

Instead of NN [name_f]Evie[/name_f] or [name_f]Eva[/name_f], I would consider a different nickname. Why?

  1. Because [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as in [EH-vee] sounds like ‘heavy’ and ‘eddie’ and ‘ellie’ when it’s shouted across a chaotic, busy playground.
  2. And [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as in [EE-vee] is quite tease-able: skeevy [name_f]Evie[/name_f], pee pee [name_f]Evie[/name_f], wheezy [name_f]Evie[/name_f], easy, kiwi, breezy, etc.
  3. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] sounds too much like [name_f]Ava[/name_f], and [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is too popular now; so little [name_f]Eva[/name_f] will get incorrectly called [name_f]Ava[/name_f] a lot, probably. (A similar dilemma happened to me as a child b/c my name was the less popular version of a popular name; it was so annoying every day)

Possible NN’s: [name_u]Evan[/name_u], [name_u]Angel[/name_u], [name_f]Vangie[/name_f], [name_u]Angie[/name_u], [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u], [name_u]Gilly[/name_u], Jelly, Linney, [name_f]Lina[/name_f]

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is the best, I think. I also like [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].

I voted for [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], I think it works with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_u]Rue[/name_u]!

I love [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u]! There are so many nickname options {my favorites being [name_f]Evie[/name_f]-[name_u]Rue[/name_u] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f]-[name_u]Rue[/name_u]}. I don’t think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] goes half as well with your children’s names, and I’m just not into [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]. I voted “use [name_u]Rue[/name_u] instead” : )

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was that [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is adorable so I voted for “use [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] instead”-- was that what you meant? I really like that combination.

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is a mouthful. I’m a fan of the nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f] tho (Ee-vee) …she wouldn’t get teased all that much from it when she’s in a lake of other kids named [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f] & [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is lovely name and a beautiful way to honor your grandmother but I prefer [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] to counter long very feminine names. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] gives [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], & [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] some gravity. Have you considered using [name_f]Adele[/name_f] (which is the [name_m]French[/name_m] diminutive of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]) ?

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u]. If you want to use [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], I like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], but I prefer [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].

I’m enamored with [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] sounds great.

I prefer [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] over [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_u]Rue[/name_u], and I really like your middle name choices - my favourite being [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] “[name_f]Clea[/name_f]” is absolutely gorgeous! [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] are also nice, but don’t flow as well as [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] Adelaie - though your surname could change that.

However, if you wanted to use [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_u]Rue[/name_u], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] are lovely. Unfortunately I don’t think any flow well with [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].

Wow, you guys - I am so thankful for your awesome feedback and am going to sit down with my husband in the morning and go over all of your comments with him!

A few of you suggested I use [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] as a first name, but as we have a very close niece with the name [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Addie[/name_f] like my grandma) that pretty much makes that a no-go.

So many good points here and all things to take into consideration. We are hoping against hope that she pulls through and stays with us a little longer, but the doctors are saying she doesn’t have much longer. I would love to be able to tell her that we are naming our little one after her while she is still with us…so all of your helpful advice means more than you know. Thank you!!

You could shorten [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] to [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Addie[/name_f]

With [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] and [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], definitely Tallullah [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]

I voted for [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] because I prefer it as first name and love nn [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] to pieces, but I think it might be a bit of a mouthful in retrospect. It sounds nice but is just sort of bulky.

I find [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] to be a sweet, vintage gem so I would say use it–but if you don’t like it, you don’t like it.

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] & [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] are both adorable!

I like [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. There others are a mouthful because they end on a vowel sound and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] begins with a vowel sound. The only problem with [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is that its cousins [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], etc. are becoming popular. But the good thing is that [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] offers an abudance of nickname options.

I would go with [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (my favorite combo) or [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (I think it sounds the best together and the NN has meaning too).
