Need help with baby girl name ideas!

I’m having a baby girl soon and I’m trying to narrow names down. My favorite choice is [name_u]Mason[/name_u] but spelt like Maisyn to make it more feminine. My husband and I both love it but we know that it’s uncommon for girls. I was thinking of adding a girly middle name to make it sound better.

Maisyn [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
Maisyn [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
Maisyn [name_f]Juliett[/name_f]
Maisyn [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]
Maisyn [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

I’m still not sure, it’s defiantly sticking with me but a few people think it sounds too masculine. I also tried using other forms of spelling like [name_f]Macyn[/name_f] or Maizen but I like it with the S.

Other names I like include:

[name_f]Maxine[/name_f] (I have a nephew named [name_u]Dean[/name_u] and it sounds a little too similar)
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Stephana[/name_f]

Let me know what you guys think! [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to add any names that aren’t up there

I love the name Maisyn for a girl aswell. I personally prefer the [name_f]Macyn[/name_f] spelling. Try not to pay too much attention anyone that says it’s too masculine. A while ago names like [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], and [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] were considered masculine but now it’s common between many boys and girls. People will eventually get used to it. If it’s what you love stick too it.

My favorite middle name is Maisyn [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. Maisyn [name_f]Jade[/name_f] for my personal pick

As for the other names

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]- My favorite! It’s so adorable. It may sound better as a nn and have her first name be [name_u]Winter[/name_u] or something like that

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]- More elegant and sophisticated than the others.

[name_f]Stephana[/name_f]- Another one of my favorites. It’s a little unique but still familar. Much better than common names like [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]. You can call her [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] as a cute nn!

Good luck! Can’t wait to see what you decide!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m],
I think if you’re going to use mason just embrace it…the regular spelling is fine!
[name_f]Macy[/name_f] or [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] could be alternatives if you’re wanting something more feminine.
I really like the other names you’ve listed with the exception of [name_f]Stephana[/name_f].
If I had to choose a favorite from your list is say [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
If you’re looking for suggestions I feel like [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] would fit your style…maybe [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f].

[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is lovely.

Sorry, I detest [name_u]Mason[/name_u] on a girl. and the odd spelling I hate even more. On your list, I love:

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]

Other ideas like [name_u]Mason[/name_u]:
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]

Maebry
[name_f]Maelys[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_f]Mae[/name_f]

From your list, I adore [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! You might also love [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] which I’m liking right now. I think [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] would be stunning.

[name_u]Riley[/name_u]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_u]Arden[/name_u]
[name_u]Auden[/name_u]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_u]Tatum[/name_u]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_u]Adair[/name_u]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u]
[name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]
[name_u]Skylar[/name_u]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]

Not to be too hard, but I agree with boyandgirl, especially the odd spelling part. I feel sorry for those girls I’ve met named Mattisyn, Rhynaie, Khyleigh, etc. It is difficult enough when you have a name with two authentic spellings (i.e. [name_f]Ann[/name_f] and [name_f]Anne[/name_f]), but to saddle a child with a name that no one will spell correctly upon first hearing it seems almost cruel.

Tirade over  Looking at your other choices:

[name_f]Maxine[/name_f] - I think of that cartoon character on the Hallmark cards, but otherwise it is a usable name. I did go to school with a girl named [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] and some mean kids would call her Maxipad, so beware of negative nicknames that others may think of on all names.

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] - Pretty, seemed like it was going to be super popular, but that trend seems to have subsided.

[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] - I guess I see the appeal, but I am not a big fan of “Har” names.

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] - Super sweet! [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] would be my choice, but that name is an acquired taste. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] would be a good “formal” name, but I would assume the child was born IN the winter time.

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] - I do like feminized masculine names, this is not my favorite of those type of names, but [name_u]Josie[/name_u] is a great nickname.

[name_f]Stephana[/name_f] - I prefer the Stefana spelling. Some people may think it is [name_f]Stephania[/name_f]/[name_f]Stefania[/name_f] misspelled. If a nickname is necessary, I think “[name_u]Stevie[/name_u]” is better than Stephie/[name_f]Steffie[/name_f].

As for name suggestions, you have a very diverse list of names, I will just list a few you may like.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f]
[name_f]Linnea[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] - [name_f]Suki[/name_f]/[name_f]Sukey[/name_f]
[name_f]Taryn[/name_f]
[name_f]Afton[/name_f]
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]
[name_u]Devon[/name_u]
[name_f]Antonia[/name_f] - [name_f]Toni[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] - [name_u]Georgie[/name_u]

I really like your idea for a girl because that’s one of my top ones too. You shouldn’t worry too much about boys having the name as well. I know plenty of [name_u]Mason[/name_u]'s, girls and boys, who are not just babies. If I were going to change the spelling, I would go with [name_u]Maison[/name_u], because [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] would be an adorable nickname in my opinion. Congratulations on the wonderful news

Some ideas are [name_u]Mason[/name_u]/[name_u]Maison[/name_u]/[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]:

[name_u]Addison[/name_u]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandrine[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Judith[/name_f]
[name_f]Julianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliett[/name_f]
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]
[name_f]Lisette[/name_f]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Nicole[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosette[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]

I can’t get behind [name_u]Mason[/name_u] on a girl no matter which way you spell it. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if the spelling is theoretically more “feminine” it is still just a complicated spelling of a masculine name…

It’s a shame to pass up all of the lovely names on your list by using “[name_u]Mason[/name_u]” imo. I particularly love [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]!

I don’t like Maisyn, but from your list I think [name_f]Mila[/name_f] is cute!

Update: My top pick as of right now is [name_f]Mila[/name_f]. It’s very beautiful and I adore it! Only thing I’m worried about is if it’ll be too popular. I don’t want my baby girl to be in a class with five other [name_m]Milas[/name_m].

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is also one of my top picks but my husband thinks it’ll be too immature when she’s older. I’ve mentioned the names [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_f]Winnifred[/name_f] and he doesn’t like them that much.

[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] is most likely out because my husband and sister say the first part sounds like hurl.

I’m still unsure if Maisyn is still in the running or not, I definitely changed my insight on it after seeing what others thought and seeing a bunch of other names I love.

I’m still looking for first and middle names so more ideas would be helpful.

Anyway, thanks for all your opinions and suggestions! We really appreciate them! Xoxo

Middle names for [name_f]Mila[/name_f]-

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Paris[/name_u]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Love[/name_u]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Maison[/name_u]

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] is such a lovely name, and don’t worry about the popularity. It seems that it will stay kind of in the middle.

Massine is an old [name_m]French[/name_m] form of [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]. I have a Massine in my family tree. That would be my pick. I wouldn’t go for a made-up name, but rather one with some legitimate history behind it.

I love [name_f]Mila[/name_f]! I think it is a great first name and also a good nick name for [name_f]Milena[/name_f].

some combos:
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Susanne[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]

Congrats and good luck!

I know a girl named [name_f]Macyn[/name_f], but she has started going by [name_f]Macy[/name_f] because of that same issue. However, I do prefer [name_f]Macyn[/name_f] to Maisyn… it seems less convoluted to me.

I like [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] and [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]. Very unique.

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] could easily be called [name_f]Mila[/name_f] or [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. If you want to call her [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], she can always decide to go by her first name [name_f]Mila[/name_f] if she feels like it once she’s older.

I also really liked the [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] suggestion. I love the nicknames [name_u]Laney[/name_u]/[name_u]Lane[/name_u] and she could go by either [name_f]Mila[/name_f] or [name_u]Laney[/name_u].

Really glad [name_f]Mila[/name_f] is your top pick. Some suggestions…

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Penrose[/name_u]

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] is very pretty. My middle name suggestions:

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Devon[/name_u]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Simone[/name_u]
