Need help with Boys list!

When it comes to girls names I have so many that I love to choose from but with boys names I struggle. I’m trying to compile a list of possible name combos for a boy and would really appreciate help from you berries.

To be honest I’m not even really sure what my style is when it comes to boys names

We have Celtic heritage and I do tend to like Celtic boys names:

[name]Tristan[/name] ([name]LOVE[/name] the character in legends of the fall :)…as well as legend [name]Tristan[/name] and [name]Isolde[/name]
[name]Declan[/name] ([name]Love[/name] and is a family name but DH won’t use up front maybe in the middle)
[name]Finn[/name] (bit too common where i live)
[name]Fionn[/name] (pronounciation concerns)

Other names I like are pretty eclectic…include
[name]Caspian[/name](family name)
Tasman (family name)
Banjo
[name]Phoenix[/name]
[name]Cato[/name]
Atlas
Bastian
Sullivan
Gulliver
and guilty pleasures [name]Bear[/name] and [name]Wolf[/name]!
DH would like to use [name]Beresford[/name]…a family name… and while I haven’t completely ruled this out I swing between thinking it has potential to be cool and unusal even though its clunky (I love [name]Bear[/name] as a nn) and then thinking that its laughable!!!.. …Any thoughts on [name]Beresford[/name] as a first name/middle name??

I am open to all suggestions…looking for suggestions of other names that you think I may like as I’m looking to expland this list and Also looking for combo suggestions or opinions on any names in above list… Basically I’m just starting on my boy name journey and would appreciate any feedback!!

(girls names I like if it helps include [name]Matilda[/name] (we already have a little girl with this name), [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Clover[/name], [name]Lucia[/name]/[name]Lucy[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Luna[/name], [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Pearl[/name])

[name]Tristan[/name] - I love [name]Tristan[/name] (when I was little I wanted twins named [name]Tristan[/name] and [name]Isolde[/name]…). Gorgeous gorgeous name.
[name]Declan[/name] - A fine name, strong and handsome.
[name]Finn[/name] - So darling and sweet.
[name]Fionn[/name] - I love this, one of my favourite Irish names. Beautiful!
[name]Caspian[/name] - Good name, [name]Narnia[/name] and the [name]Caspian[/name] Sea, and sounds like [name]Cassian[/name]. Very nice.
Tasman - Tasman Glacier in [name]New[/name] Zealand, Tasmania in Australia. It sounds nice.
[name]Banjo[/name] - I think this is one of the musical instruments that sounds weirdest as a name.
[name]Phoenix[/name] - I can see the appeal of this one, as a middle maybe?
[name]Cato[/name] - Oh, I love [name]Cato[/name]! It’s a wonderful name.
[name]Atlas[/name] - I think this is too much, and that’s me talking. It’s not a nice myth behind this name.
[name]Bastian[/name] - [name]Sebastian[/name] yes, [name]Bastian[/name] no.
[name]Bear[/name] and [name]Wolf[/name] - Yes to [name]Wolf[/name]. [name]Bear[/name] is ok as a middle maybe.
[name]Beresford[/name] - It’s fine as a middle name I think. It sounds a little weird as a first maybe?

I think [name]Tristan[/name], [name]Caspian[/name], [name]Cato[/name] and [name]Wolf[/name] ([name]Wolfgang[/name], Wolfric, Wolfram?) sounds nice with [name]Matilda[/name].
[name]Caspian[/name] [name]Bear[/name], [name]Caspian[/name] [name]Wolf[/name], [name]Caspian[/name] [name]Beresford[/name]
[name]Tristan[/name] [name]Wolf[/name], [name]Tristan[/name] [name]Cato[/name], [name]Tristan[/name] Wolfric
[name]Cato[/name] Tasman, [name]Cato[/name] [name]Beresford[/name], [name]Cato[/name] [name]Wolfgang[/name], [name]Cato[/name] Wolfram

You’ve got a lot of names ending in -n and are two syllable, which makes combos difficult. Some suggestions:
[name]Amory[/name], [name]Ambrose[/name], Aristide, [name]Augustine[/name], [name]Balthazar[/name], Bendrix, [name]Bertram[/name], [name]Constantine[/name], Deronda, Edmure, [name]Everard[/name], [name]Fenton[/name], [name]Fox[/name], [name]Ignatius[/name], [name]Isidore[/name], [name]Leander[/name], [name]Leopold[/name], [name]Llewellyn[/name], [name]Marlowe[/name], [name]Mortimer[/name], [name]Orlando[/name], [name]Roderick[/name], [name]Roland[/name], [name]Roscoe[/name], [name]Socrates[/name], [name]Tristram[/name], [name]Woodrow[/name].

[name]Tristan[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this. It’s one of my favorites too.
[name]Declan[/name] - NMS at all.
[name]Finn[/name] - Reminds me of fish and that annoying TV show Adventure Time. I don’t like it to say the least.
[name]Fionn[/name] - I’m unsure how to pronounce this but I like the way it looks.
[name]Caspian[/name] - NMS.
Tasman - My first thought is the Tasmanian Devil. Dislike.
[name]Banjo[/name] - only as an instrument, please! It’s very laughable.
[name]Phoenix[/name] - I don’t really like the sound, but it looks awesome.
[name]Cato[/name] - Pretty cool.
[name]Atlas[/name] - Very nice sounding, but I think it would make a better middle name.
[name]Bastian[/name] - I would prefer [name]Sebastian[/name].
[name]Sullivan[/name] - Too surnamey for me.
[name]Gulliver[/name] - Sounds like Gallbladder.
[name]Bear[/name] and [name]Wolf[/name] - I think these would make interesting middle names, but never as a first.
[name]Beresford[/name] - Fine as a middle.

[name]Tristan[/name]- this is a nice name, I like it
[name]Declan[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name], my favorite boy’s name
[name]Finn[/name]- I like it, but I don’t think it works well as the child ages…
[name]Fionn[/name]- same as [name]Finn[/name]
[name]Cato[/name]- I like this

I would never be able to take the following seriously on a child (or adult for that matter) and offer bullying potential
[name]Caspian[/name]
Tasman
[name]Banjo[/name]
[name]Phoenix[/name]
[name]Atlas[/name]
[name]Bastian[/name]
[name]Sullivan[/name]
[name]Gulliver[/name]
[name]Bear[/name]
[name]Wolf[/name]
[name]Beresford[/name]
Although, they all make nice, quirky middle names.

Sorry for repeats, let me know what you think so I can help some more. good luck

My favorite is [name]Fionn[/name] (“Fyoon”) Oh my heavens what a beautiful name! I’m tempted to thieve it.
[name]Fionn[/name] Tasman would be lovely, and a subtle link to [name]Matilda[/name] with the Australian theme.
I think [name]Fionn[/name] [name]Atlas[/name] has a great sound, but I agree with [name]Ottilie[/name] that the myth is …heavy.
[name]Fionn[/name] [name]Sullivan[/name]
[name]Cato[/name] [name]Fionn[/name]

[name]Cato[/name] [name]Declan[/name] sounds great together. Also love the suggetions of [name]Lachlan[/name], [name]Noland[/name] and [name]Niall[/name].

Thanks for the feedback guys! Lots of love for [name]Tristan[/name], [name]Fionn[/name] and [name]Cato[/name] in particular it seems! [name]Love[/name] suggestions of [name]Cato[/name] [name]Declan[/name], [name]Fionn[/name] Tasman and [name]Cato[/name] [name]Wolfgang[/name] in particular and [name]Ottilie[/name] I love new suggestions of Bendrix (have never heard this before!) and [name]Roscoe[/name]!

Other combos I’m thiking about include [name]Cato[/name] [name]Gulliver[/name], [name]Fionn[/name] [name]Gulliver[/name], Tasman [name]Phoenix[/name] and [name]Tristan[/name] [name]Roscoe[/name]. Any other thoughts?

I actually really like [name]Beresford[/name], though think it may work better as a MN, feels too last namey for the first name position.
[name]Tristan[/name] is a pretty good name. Not exactly my style, but can see why you like it.
[name]Declan[/name] is a great name. I’d definitely prefer it as a FN though.
[name]Finn[/name] is great too, what about [name]Finnian[/name] or [name]Phineas[/name].
[name]Fionn[/name] is a solid name, new to me actually, I think I prefer [name]Flynn[/name] though.
[name]Caspian[/name] is an awesome name.
Not a fan of Tasman or [name]Banjo[/name] at all for a FN (Tasman seems like Tasmania, though if it’s a family name it could be a solid MN— [name]Banjo[/name] on the other hand is just strange to me)
[name]Phoenix[/name] is alright, but never been a fan myself.
[name]Cato[/name] is solid and strong.
[name]Atlas[/name] is awesome, but always makes me think of a book of maps.
[name]Bastian[/name] is nice, I actually prefer it to [name]Sebastian[/name].
[name]Sullivan[/name] is solid, kinda awesome, and love the NN ‘Sulli’. This actually might be my favorite of the bunch.
[name]Gulliver[/name] just has too strong of a gulliver’s travel association to be useable for me.

Here’s some other names that may or may not fit your style, in case any of them jump out at you:
[name]Callum[/name]
[name]Cian[/name]
[name]Keenan[/name]
[name]Keegan[/name]
[name]Amias[/name]
[name]Caius[/name]
[name]Eamon[/name]
[name]Soren[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Ronan[/name]
[name]Emrys[/name]
[name]Keaton[/name]
[name]Augustus[/name]
[name]Marcellus[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name]
[name]Julian[/name]
[name]Brogan[/name]
[name]Conall[/name]
[name]Cassian[/name]
[name]Alton[/name]

From your list, I like [name]Tristan[/name] and [name]Declan[/name] the best.
[name]Beresford[/name] would make a great middle name, especially if you used it as a second middle name, since it has that surname type of feel.
I wouldn’t put two names ending with ‘n’ together though, as that wouldn’t flow too well.

Some other suggestions:

[name]Regan[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name]
[name]Evan[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Archer[/name]
[name]Trent[/name]
[name]Dylan[/name]
[name]Riley[/name]
[name]Ryan[/name]
[name]Fletcher[/name]
[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name]
[name]Liam[/name]
[name]Ryder[/name]
[name]Travis[/name]
[name]Troy[/name]
[name]Morris[/name]

Possibile combinations (with or without [name]Beresford[/name] as a second MN):

[name]Declan[/name] [name]Ryder[/name] [name]Beresford[/name]
[name]Tristan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Beresford[/name]
[name]Travis[/name] [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Beresford[/name]
[name]Regan[/name] [name]Troy[/name] [name]Beresford[/name]
[name]Evan[/name] [name]Morris[/name] [name]Beresford[/name]
[name]Liam[/name] [name]Fletcher[/name] [name]Beresford[/name]
[name]Miles[/name] [name]Archer[/name] [name]Beresford[/name]

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

From these, I love:
[name]Fionn[/name] Tasman
[name]Cato[/name] [name]Wolfgang[/name]
[name]Cato[/name] [name]Gulliver[/name]
[name]Fionn[/name] [name]Gulliver[/name]

Dislike:
[name]Cato[/name] [name]Declan[/name]- the sounds all come from the same place in your mouth with this one… both interesting names that become less interesting together [name]IMO[/name].
Tasman [name]Phoenix[/name]- sounds like jasmine phoenix, the green tea!
[name]Tristan[/name] [name]Roscoe[/name]- [name]Roscoe[/name] is such a rough-and-tumble playful name, and [name]Tristan[/name] is more Medieval, courtly…
Instead:
[name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Phoenix[/name], [name]Roscoe[/name] Tasman
[name]Tristan[/name] [name]Beresford[/name], [name]Tristan[/name] [name]Fionn[/name], [name]Tristan[/name] Sebastiao (Portuguese, from [name]Sebastian[/name]) or [name]Tristan[/name] [name]Bas[/name] (Dutch, from [name]Sebastian[/name])

Suggestions:

[name]Tiernan[/name]
[name]Tristram[/name]
[name]Taliesin[/name]
[name]Bayard[/name]
[name]Tolliver[/name]
[name]Cyprian[/name]
[name]Espen[/name]
[name]Balthasar[/name] / [name]Balthazar[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name]
[name]Inigo[/name]
[name]Jago[/name]
[name]Finnian[/name]
[name]Penn[/name]
[name]Bede[/name]
