[name]Hi[/name], I’m expecting baby number 3 in 5 weeks and am in need of some opinions/inspiration on our name list so far. We are struggling, with the 1st two we had a middle name that was very special to us and worked around it, but not this time.
I have a 1st and middle name list and would love some suggestions on combinations. I also want to make sure the name “goes” well with our first two – [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Stanley[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] [name]Nonie[/name].
Open to other suggestions for 1st names in the same style. Middle names are all family names so we are a bit limited there. Surname starts with D and sounds completely ridiculous with any “D” names.
We just can’t find a name we “love”. The only girls name we both really love is [name]Josie[/name], but for obvious reasons that is out…just wish we realised we loved it before naming our son [name]Joseph[/name]…oops.
First names (in rough order of preference):
[name]Holly[/name]
[name]Amy[/name] (but we can’t agree on spelling I want [name]Amy[/name], he wants [name]Aimee[/name])
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name]
Middle names:
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Anne[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Sandra[/name] (Mum’s name, but we aren’t overly fussed on it…I’m sure she understands)
I love [name]Amy[/name]! [name]Amy[/name] is my favourite.
[name]Amy[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Amy[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Amy[/name] Lysandra (see what I did there? lol) or [name]Amy[/name] [name]Alessandra[/name]
[name]Holly[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Holly[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Holly[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Don[/name]'t let him spell it [name]Aimee[/name]! [name]Amy[/name] is so classic and simple resist the urge to gild the lily.
Those are the ones I like best.
Other names in the same style… sweet, simple names that aren’t hard to explain?
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Claire[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Zara[/name]
First names:
[name]Holly[/name]-I like this name. Its ok.
[name]Amy[/name]-[name]Amy[/name] is pretty either way, but I think you’ll have more luck if you spell it [name]Amy[/name] (guessing you live in the US)
[name]Sophie[/name]-I adore this name! So pretty.
[name]Hannah[/name]-I really love this name, too. I also like that its simple and beautiful, just like [name]Joseph[/name] (handsome in his case) and [name]Alice[/name].
[name]Zoe[/name]-Very cute, but a bit different than [name]Joseph[/name] and [name]Alice[/name].
All of your middle names are good names and I love that they’re family names. If I were picking from this list, I think I’d choose [name]Sophie[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name].
I think [name]Sophie[/name] & [name]Hannah[/name] sound nicest with [name]Joseph[/name] & [name]Alice[/name] - not sure if you are fussed about that, though.
With your middle name options, I like [name]Sophie[/name] [name]Anne[/name] or [name]Sophie[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name].
To my ear, [name]Sandra[/name] doesn’t flow that nicely with your first name options because of the vowel ending on all of them. What about using a variation of [name]Sandra[/name] ie. [name]Sandrine[/name] ?
Side note: My mom’s name is also [name]Sandra[/name] and my sister used [name]Cassandra[/name] for her youngest’s mn to honor her (although that vowel ending doesn’t really change the way it would sound with your fn options!)
Good luck!
I think [name]Hannah[/name] compliments your sibset perfectly - [name]Hannah[/name], [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Joseph[/name] is flawless, imo. [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] or [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] would be my choice.
