I’m American and DH is [name_f]Indian[/name_f]. He won’t be happy with a name he has never heard of, so the name either needs to be something classic that is world famous or used in [name_f]India[/name_f]. I prefer unusual but feminine welsh and french names, so it has been tough. I have already poured through every [name_f]Indian[/name_f] name known to man, but could use some help either suggesting more Western names or helping me with middle names for my finalists.
Our last name rhymes with Virma.
The names I have it narrowed down to are:
[name_f]Annika[/name_f]
[name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
Mayuri- is indian and is pronounced my-oo-ree by Americans.
I believe middle names should flow with the first names but not be too similar in sound and feeling so that they can be used in the event the child dislikes their first name or they want a less ethnic or gender revealing name on their resumes. I would appreciate suggestions for the above first names. So far, some of my favorites are sky, rose, belle, laine, dawn, moon, madeleine, ellen, and jade.
I am leaning towards [name_f]Diana[/name_f] and Mayuri most as I feel [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is a bit too common right now and [name_f]Annika[/name_f] just doesn’t sound as feminine as I prefer even though it’s the most popular and practical.
Please let me know your favorite combos and offer any suggestions for names that might be considered for firsts or middles.
I particularly like [name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Diana[/name_f] from the names you have narrowed down to. Not sure what type of middle names you are wanting, but here goes a try:
I like all four names on your list but I don’t like some of them with an older brother named Tejan Anakin. I think Mayuri is the only name on your list that can match Tejan’s exotic [name_f]Indian[/name_f] flair. I think Mayuri [name_f]Belle[/name_f] or Mayuri [name_u]Laine[/name_u] flow nicely.
I would eliminate these names…
(1) [name_f]Annika[/name_f] - it’s too similar to Anakin and Tejan ends the way [name_f]Annika[/name_f] begins with an “an”
(2) [name_f]Diana[/name_f] - I don’t like the shared “an” with Tejan and it doesn’t have the exotic vibe of Tejan.
(3) [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - it sounds oddly mismatched with Tejan and it’s vintage quality sounds clunky in comparison next to his name.
Hmm…
My favourites from the list are [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] & Mayuri. But I know that your leaning towards [name_f]Diana[/name_f] and Mayuri so in all honesty out of your two favourite options I would choose Mayuri. She’s exotic, has this very light, airy feel she looks so sweet. I love how Mayuri represents her heritage and would work with her [name_f]Indian[/name_f] surname. Concerning a middle name for Mayuri I would use a middle name that feels classic, a middle name that isn’t hippy like for example ‘[name_u]Echo[/name_u]’ but a name that has a lot of strength and elegance, a name like ‘[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]’. From your middle name suggestions my favourites to go with Mayuri would be…
Mayuri [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
Mayuri [name_f]Ellen[/name_f]
Mayuri [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
Mayuri [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
Middle name suggestions for Mayuri:
Mayuri [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
Mayuri [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
Mayuri [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
Mayuri [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]
Mayuri [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
