Need help with our sibset!

Hi all,

I posted a poll the other day and I got some great feedback on my favorite nn’s, but here is my next issue! I really love sibset’s that match…I have crossed so many names off my list because they just don’t match. So we have narrowed our list to six names, and I would love to know what you think of them:

[name]Isadora[/name] nn [name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name] nn [name]Emmy[/name] OR [name]Gemma[/name] nn [name]Emmy[/name]
[name]Grace[/name] nn [name]Gracie[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name] nn [name]Annie[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name] nn [name]Edie[/name]

I also love [name]Maisie[/name] but we can’t find a full name that we like :frowning:

So which two names go best with [name]Edward[/name] nn [name]Teddy[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name] nn [name]Max[/name] and [name]August[/name] nn [name]Gus[/name]?

Thanks for all your help guys!

I think [name]Gemma[/name] would be the best. I really love [name]Emmeline[/name] as well, but I wouldn’t use another E name. [name]Emmy[/name] is adorable!

With [name]Edward[/name] ([name]Teddy[/name]), [name]Maxwell[/name] ([name]Max[/name]) and [name]Augustus[/name] ([name]Gus[/name]), my three favourites are:

[name]Emmeline[/name] ([name]Emmy[/name])
[name]Annabel[/name] ([name]Annie[/name])
[name]Elodie[/name] ([name]Edie[/name])

My only concern with [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Elodie[/name] is that they both start with E, which matches [name]Edward[/name]'s first initial. I’m assuming, though, that he is mainly called [name]Teddy[/name]?

And lastly, I think that [name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Marguerite[/name], maybe even [name]Margo[/name], could lead to the NN [name]Maisie[/name].

Good luck!

Yep he is always [name]Teddy[/name]…occasionaly [name]Ned[/name] but never [name]Edward[/name], it’s just a formality cause I couldn’t use [name]Teddy[/name] on it’s own and sadly hadn’t discovered [name]Theodore[/name]!

I don’t really mind if one of the twins names starts with an E but I couldn’t so both!

Oh and it is twins… I didn’t mention that at the beginning so I guess it’s which names go best!

Thanks for the feedback guys

I love the thought of [name]Isadora[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] together, especially with [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Annie[/name] as nicknames!
Maybe [name]Melusine[/name] to get [name]Maisie[/name]? [name]Melusine[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] would also be wonderful, but [name]Melusine[/name] might be a little ‘out there’ for you.
[name]Marjorie[/name] would work as well.

I have never heard of [name]Melusine[/name] before…how do you pronounce it?

[name]MEL[/name]-u-SEEN or [name]MEL[/name]-u-seen.
The French spell it Mélusine.
you can hear it on -->

I love [name]Genevieve[/name] so much, and I think it works well with [name]Edward[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name] and [name]August[/name], as [name]Evie[/name] works well with [name]Teddy[/name], [name]Max[/name] and [name]Gus[/name].

Your boys names are awesome by the way!

I don’t know which of the other names I’d pair with [name]Genevieve[/name] for her twin though. [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name] just aren’t enough name to me with [name]Genevieve[/name], plus the initials are matchy, [name]Isadora[/name] feels totally different to me and just isn’t a name I like that much, [name]Elodie[/name] is beautiful and works well with [name]Genevieve[/name], but I think [name]Evie[/name] and [name]Edie[/name] are way too close, [name]Elodie[/name] and [name]Edward[/name] are close, and I don’t really like [name]Edie[/name] with [name]Teddy[/name] either to be honest.

So it would have to be [name]Annabel[/name] or [name]Emmeline[/name]. [name]Emmy[/name] isn’t as bad with [name]Evie[/name] as [name]Edie[/name] is but it’s still a little matchy, and it’s just a nickname I feel fed up of. [name]Annie[/name] is an absolute favourite nickname of mine! So if I had to pick I’d go for [name]Annabel[/name] nn [name]Annie[/name], but I feel like [name]Genevieve[/name]'s sister would deserve an equally elegant name, and as lovely as [name]Annabel[/name] is, it’s far more down to earth for me.

I like:

[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Anneliese[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name] & [name]Annie[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Angelica[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name] & [name]Annie[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Annora[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name] & [name]Annie[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Arabella[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name] & [name]Ari[/name]/[name]Belle[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Mirabelle[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name] & [name]Mira[/name]/[name]Belle[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Elodie[/name] nn [name]Ginny[/name] & [name]Edie[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Elodie[/name] nn [name]Annie[/name] & [name]Edie[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] nn [name]Annie[/name] & [name]Emmy[/name]

Good luck!

[name]Haven[/name]'t been back since today!

Wow! Thanks for your detailed feedback! Yeah I don’t think we’ll go for 2 E names…just seems like a little overkill! I can see what you mean about [name]Elodie[/name] and [name]Edward[/name]…and I agree, I just love [name]Edie[/name] but there doesn’t seem to be a full name that we like.

I like your suggestion of [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Annelise[/name]…but does it feel a little old? I feel as if our boys have quite classic names that have a modern feel, especially with the middle names [name]Paxton[/name], [name]Tennyson[/name], and [name]Sawyer[/name]…

Thanks again guys…
Any more opinions?

I like [name]Elodie[/name] & [name]Annabel[/name]

I really like [name]Maisie[/name]. Since it’s a nn for [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name] pretty much any variant would work
[name]Mairead[/name] “may-red”/Maryim/[name]Marissa[/name]/[name]Marisol[/name]/[name]Marilyn[/name]/[name]Maren[/name]/[name]Megan[/name]…
Also like
Esmee “ez-may”

I don’t mind [name]Elodie[/name] with [name]Edward[/name] but other ways to [name]Edie[/name]

[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Grace[/name]. [name]Evie[/name] and [name]Gracie[/name] won’t be as close as their formal names. And I love how they work together in the sibset.

[name]Nat[/name]-108 – Actually, there are a few ways to pronounce [name]Mairead[/name] depending on whether you use accents and where you put them. “[name]May[/name]-[name]Red[/name]” isn’t an “acceptable” pronunciation, the “acceptable” ones are “mah-raid”, “mah-reed”, “may-reed”, and “mair-eed”.

I love [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Isadora[/name].
