So my daughter’s names are [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Erin[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]. I am currently expecting - we don’t know if it’s a girl or boy yet. We have a boy name picked but I cannot figure out a girl name to be set on. We really don’t want to use another ‘L’ or ‘E’ name. I’m open to any suggestions and comments on our current likes!
Here are names we like.
[name_u]Sydney[/name_u] (this is my top choice probably but the nickname [name_u]Syd[/name_u] rhymes with the nickname we use for my oldest- Lyd - and I can’t seem to get past that. Is it a big deal?)
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] (love this so much too but I don’t want [name_f]Erin[/name_f] to feel left out because her name isn’t necessarily as girly as [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] are)
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Cara[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Fern[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Erin[/name_f] is a beautiful feminine name so that’s not a issue imo. I don’t think the nicknames are a big deal. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorites from your list are [name_u]Sydney[/name_u], [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], & [name_f]Juliet[/name_f].
What about
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
I really like the way that [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Erin[/name_f] and [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] would all have really different endings. I agree with @oceanmama97 that [name_f]Erin[/name_f] is beautiful and feminine just like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] (and Noelle) but I do see how it can be perceived differently with its ‘in’ ending not being traditionally ‘pretty’. I’d swap that to be called [name_f]Erin[/name_f], though - it’s a great name!
As you like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_u]Sydney[/name_u], I wondered if you’d also like [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] with its ‘id’ sound?
I can see how [name_u]Syd[/name_u] and Lyd might get confusing! [name_m]Saint[/name_m] could be a possible nn from the meaning of [name_u]Sydney[/name_u], perhaps.
Firstly [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] & [name_f]Erin[/name_f] are such lovely names
From what appears to be your top two names I really love [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. Personally I’m not a massive fan of [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] and I think this name feels stylistically very different with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] & [name_f]Erin[/name_f] which feel very feminine. Whereas [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is pretty definitely works in your sibling set and has a gorgeous Christmassy vibe.
In relation to the rest of your list I think (for me) they have your sparkly absolutely wonderful contenders that would be amazing with your sibling set!
So my favourites from the rest of your list are
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Fern[/name_f]
I honestly think the most swoon worthy names with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] & [name_f]Erin[/name_f] are [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f] & [name_f]Fern[/name_f] especially [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Erin[/name_f] & [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] that’s so swoon worthy!
If it was me I would use [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] shes absolute perfection
I wonder if [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] needs a nickname though since it is only two syllables, unlike [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] which is three. It might depend if you are a nicknamey family. I like [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] and had never thought of shortening it to [name_u]Syd[/name_u] before
I love [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]! I think that works so well with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Erin[/name_f]. Great sibset! Also a fan of [name_f]Cara[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f], and [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is my favorite though.
With [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Erin[/name_f], I love [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] (Erin feels feminine enough for it to work), [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f] and Ada!!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] your girls’ names! [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is definitely my favorite for you but you have a great list overall! I like that [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] has a different ending sounds because while I see [name_f]Erin[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] as both being feminine, having another name ending in -a might make [name_f]Erin[/name_f] stand out a little more as “not as girly”–which for the record I think it is but I hope that logic makes sense. So for me that eliminated a few off your list. [name_f]Fern[/name_f] is lovely but again I’m just one for avoiding ending sounds, and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is spunky but for some reason I don’t love it as much as [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] with your girls.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is so beautiful and is my second favorite for you.
As an [name_f]Erin[/name_f] myself, I feel the name is really feminine. I’ve known so many female Erins (to the point where it is annoying. I was never the only [name_f]Erin[/name_f] in my class growing up. Its way less popular now and I love seeing it used!). [name_m]Ive[/name_m] rarely run into boy Aarons. I think because they are such different spellings too, no one has ever looked at [name_f]Erin[/name_f] and thought boy. I think feminine sister names work fine with it. I like [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Erin[/name_f].
