We have chosen to keep the potential baby names a secret from family, but my husband and I are having a difficult time chosing the name of our first daughter!
He is [name_m]German[/name_m]/Czech and loves names that have a V, Z, or K lol
I really want something that sounds pretty, yet strong; a name that is unique but not too off the wall or just a slight variation of a common name.
Honestly, a name’s meaning is very important to me as well.
We are in between the names [name_f]Aneska[/name_f] and Revalyn.
Please help by sharing which name you think is a wiser choice! Please feel free to share your honest opinions!
Both names are new to me, so my immediate impression of each…
[name_f]Aneska[/name_f] seems soft but strong; it’s my favorite between the two you like; you didn’t ask for suggestions, but I’ll mention [name_f]Anika[/name_f] as a similar option
Revalyn, I hate hate to say it, but, honestly, I imagine it’s how Scooby Doo would pronounce [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].
Both names are new to me, as well, and I’m liking them! I like [name_f]Aneska[/name_f] more than Revalyn, which sounds cool too.
I just think [name_f]Aneska[/name_f] sounds so flippin’ adorable. It’s like you took the ugly [name_u]Fran[/name_u] part out of Franceska and just formed your own, superior name, haha!
[name_f]Aneska[/name_f] gets my vote, for sure, and it’s going on my list =] I would probably use it as a middle, myself. Now I’m thinking about middles for [name_f]Aneska[/name_f] for you, and firsts for [name_f]Aneska[/name_f] for myself. Lol
[name_f]Aneska[/name_f] seems to fit exactly what you’re looking for — it doesn’t feel unfamiliar even though most people probably haven’t met one before. Revalyn feels more invented to me, and I also wouldn’t be sure how to pronounce it: Like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] with an R, or like [name_f]REE[/name_f]-va-lin? I did know a [name_f]Reva[/name_f] growing up who always loved her name.
I too prefer [name_f]Aneska[/name_f]. Feminine yet strong and cool (kind of gives me the same vibes as [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]). To be honest, Revalyn sounds like a knock-off brand of Revlon make-up.(Sorry if it is a really treasured family name or something).
I think [name_f]Aneska[/name_f] is adorable! It’s feminine but not frilly at all, and it has some spunk to it! I love it! Revalyn sounds a lot like “revel in” or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] with an R. I like [name_f]Aneska[/name_f]!
Y’all have been amazing! Thank you so much for the honest feedback! The Scooby Doo comment was priceless! I need to hear that perspective because I don’t want my lil kiddo made fun of in school.
